Junior Strong Python Developer
Geniusee is hiring a junior Python developer (1–2 years commercial experience) to build a cloud-based workplace parking management platform. Day to day: Django REST Framework endpoints, PostgreSQL models and migrations, tests, AWS deployments, and heavy daily use of AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot.

Skills
Must have
- About 1–2 years of commercial experience with Python
- Python 3: functions, classes, exceptions, typing, readable module structure
- Practical Django: models, querysets, admin, migrations, settings
- Django REST Framework: serializers, APIView/generic views, authentication, permissions
- SQL and relational modeling: joins, filters, indexes, query optimization in PostgreSQL
- REST API design: status codes, request/response payloads, validation, pagination
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development; able to explain tool usage and verify output
- Backend architecture: layered/service-oriented design, monolith vs microservices, caching, async/background processing
- Docker and Docker Compose: building images, running multi-service apps locally
- AWS fundamentals: EC2/ECS or Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, Django deployment in the cloud

Full description
About the Project:
Project is a cloud-based workplace parking management and intelligence platform designed to automate, optimize, and make employee parking fairer and more sustainable.
**Responsibilities:
**● Design, build, and change REST endpoints: views, serializers, permissions, and URL wiring;
● Implement business rules in the service layer and keep database access in selectors and querysets;
● Write and update Django models and migrations for PostgreSQL, with attention to query performance;
● Use AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) day to day. Break tasks down, review and verify generated code, and take ownership of what gets merged;
● Cover changes with unit and functional tests (Django test runner, factories, fixtures);
● Fix bugs in existing API behavior and add regression tests;
● Containerize, deploy, and troubleshoot services in AWS environments together with the team;
● Take part in code review and technical discussions, and follow the team’s formatting and lint setup.
**Requirements:
**● About 1–2 years of commercial experience with Python;
● Python 3: functions, classes, exceptions, typing, and readable module structure;
● Practical Django: models, querysets, the admin, migrations, and settings;
● Django REST Framework: serializers, APIView or generic views, authentication, and permissions;
● SQL and relational modeling: joins, filters, indexes, and query optimization basics in PostgreSQL;
● REST API design: status codes, request and response payloads, validation, and pagination;
● Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development. You should be able to explain how you use these tools and how you check their output;
● Understanding of backend architecture: layered and service-oriented design, monolith vs. microservices, caching, async and background processing, and the trade-offs between them;
● Docker and Docker Compose: building images and running a multi-service app locally;
● AWS fundamentals: EC2/ECS or Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, and how a Django app is deployed and configured in the cloud;
● CI/CD basics: pipelines, running tests and linters automatically, and environment configuration;
● Git: branches, commits, pull requests, and resolving review comments;
● English level: Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher.
**Nice to have:
**● GeoDjango or PostGIS;
● Redis, Celery or other background jobs, Django Channels;
● OpenAPI documentation (drf-spectacular) and JWT authentication;
