Full description
The Lead Systems Architect is responsible for defining and governing the system architecture for embedded, cloud-connected, and IoT product platforms. This role translates business and product requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performance technical solutions while ensuring alignment across software, firmware, hardware, QA, and DevOps functions. The Lead Systems Architect establishes system-level designs, evaluates technical approaches, identifies and mitigates architectural risks, and drives consistency across product platforms. Working closely with Product Management and Program Management, this position provides technical leadership throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and design through development, deployment, and product launch. The role requires strong expertise in systems architecture, cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, and technical decision-making.
Essential Function
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product Management, Program Management, Development, and Quality Assurance teams to define requirements and drive solution design and development from initial concept through prototyping, validation, and product launch.
Evaluate alternative technical and business approaches, spearhead proof‑of‑concept efforts, and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical, operational, and delivery risks.
Collaborate with developers to interpret product specifications and architectural designs, breaking them down into actionable tasks and reliable effort estimates.
Work closely with peer Systems Architects to leverage collective expertise, promote best practices, and ensure architectural consistency across products and platforms.
Optimize system performance and resolve performance issues
Define, document, and maintain reusable architectural standards, patterns, and design guidelines to promote consistency and efficiency across product specifications and system designs.
