Lead Technician/Programmer

Company Overview

We are partnering with a growing custom integration firm based in Eden Prairie, MN (Minneapolis area), specializing in Savant-based smart home systems for residential clients. The company is in an active growth phase, led by a small, hands-on ownership team that works directly alongside the field team every day.

This is a people-first organization by design. Leadership is building a team of people who want to stick around, grow their skills, and have a real stake in where the business goes next, not just punch a clock and move on to the next opportunity.

Why Join Us?

• Ground-Floor Growth: You'll join a company that's actively growing, with real opportunity to move into more senior or leadership responsibility over time as the business scales.
• Real Work-Life Balance: Leadership isn't a fan of mandatory overtime and hasn't needed much of it. If you value your evenings and weekends, that's the culture here.
• They'll Invest in Your Growth: Want to pick up a certification that adds value for the team? Leadership is open to supporting it when you bring a clear business case.
• Direct Access to Leadership: This is a small, agile team where you'll work closely with ownership day to day, not buried under layers of management.
• A Team That Actually Hangs Out: Monthly office happy hours (with a golf simulator on-site), an annual holiday party, and plans to add more team-building events as the company grows.
• Bring Your Experience to the Table: Leadership genuinely wants someone who's seen how another company operates and can bring better ways of doing things back to the team. Good ideas are welcome regardless of who they come from.

Job Overview

We are looking for a Lead Technician/Programmer to take primary ownership of Savant system installation, programming, and client-facing support, freeing up leadership to focus on growing the business. This person will bring deep technical expertise and true independence: someone who can program and troubleshoot a full Savant system without leaning on tech support at every turn.

Beyond the technical work, this role is customer-facing. You'll lead installations, walk clients through their finished systems, and represent the company well in every home you're in. As the team grows, this role has real potential to take on more leadership responsibility over time, but it isn't meant as a quick stepping stone to project management. The right person wants to build a long career here as a technical leader.

Responsibilities

• Independently program, configure, and troubleshoot full Savant systems from start to finish.
• Lead the installation process on residential projects, including wiring, equipment mounting, and system setup.
• Lead and mentor other technicians on job sites; crew size varies by project.
