WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ONMain challenge
We are looking for a Lead VFX Artist to lead the VFX discipline across our games, combining strong artistic expertise with team coordination, visual direction, and pipeline development. You will work closely with the Art Director and key stakeholders across the studio to ensure a consistent visual and technical quality across all VFX, while supporting project and studio goals.
You will oversee the VFX process from initial concepts and prototyping through implementation, iteration, optimisation, and final delivery. Working with our proprietary engine and in-house tools, you will also contribute to the evolution of our VFX workflows, standards, and technology.
What it means on a daily basis
- VFX Team Leadership: Oversee and coordinate the VFX team, establish priorities, and ensure deadlines and quality targets are met. Identify and remove systemic blockers early and proactively adjust resources and scope.
- Visual Direction & Quality: Work with the Art Director to ensure visual and technical unity across all VFX. Review completed work against artistic, technical, and gameplay requirements and advance VFX quality through regular reviews.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with Art Leads, Producers, Gameplay, Tech Art, Engineering, and other teams. Provide constructive feedback to internal and external partners.
- VFX Pipeline: Oversee the entire VFX pipeline, from initial concept and prototyping through implementation, iteration, optimisation, and final delivery.
- Standards & Workflows: Establish and maintain VFX standards, workflows, tools, and best practices. Ensure effects meet performance and platform requirements.
- Team Development: Participate in recruitment, mentor VFX artists, and foster team growth and development.
What success will look like
After 3 months, you will have built a strong understanding of the studio's projects, VFX workflows, team structure, and production requirements. You will have established effective working relationships with the Art Director and key stakeholders across the studio.
After 6 months, you will be independently driving VFX priorities, supporting the team in delivering against project goals, and contributing to the evolution of VFX standards, workflows, and quality across the studio.
Who you would be working with
You will report to the Studio Art Director and work closely with VFX artists, Art Leads, Producers, Gameplay, Tech Art, Engineering, and other art and development teams. You will also collaborate with internal and external partners throughout the production process.
