Leisure Assistant / Lifeguard

Leisure Assistant (Lifeguard)The Role Outline: Your Shift at a Glance

Let's be completely transparent. This is primarily a Lifeguard role, but we do not expect you to sit in a chair staring at a pool for your entire shift. We operate a strict 30 minute rotation policy.

That means you will spend 30 minutes providing sharp, visual poolside lifeguarding in accordance with STA guidelines. After that, you rotate into your Leisure Assistant duties, moving around the club to maintain impeccable hygiene standards, keep our changing rooms squeaky clean, and chat with our members. You get the best of both worlds, keeping our members safe and keeping your day varied.

Why Village?

At Village, we are all about personality, genuine connections, and creating great experiences for our guests and each other. We back our teams to take ownership, learn new skills, and grow their careers.

If you are a proactive team player who takes pool safety seriously but also loves interacting with people and taking pride in a pristine environment, we will give you all the support you need.

How the Village Thrives

We live our culture through four simple commitments:

• We Can & We Do: We show up to make a genuine difference. You will respond to poolside emergencies, take appropriate action, and carry out routine cleaning to ensure all areas exceed statutory requirements.

• We Will: Treat each other with respect and dignity. No ego, no drama. You will support your fellow Leisure Team Members in the effective running of the department and assist other hotel departments when needed.

• We Care: We care about our impact on guests, the community, and each other. You will assist members in a friendly, courteous manner, respecting their privacy and offering great advice on our facilities and opening times.

Your Working Week: What You Will Actually Be Doing

As our Leisure Assistant and Lifeguard, you are the key link in the chain that joins up great staff with memorable customer service. We trust you to handle:

• Poolside Safety (The 30 Minute Rotation): Maintaining vigilant poolside cover, responding immediately to alarms, and acting as the first responder in any emergency situation.

• Hygiene & Presentation: Carrying out periodic cleaning across the club, including male and female changing rooms, operating cleaning equipment, and strictly following COSHH regulations.

• Member Engagement: Being a friendly face on the floor, answering member queries, dealing with lost property professionally, and reporting any equipment defects immediately to the maintenance department.

• Statutory Compliance: Operating hotel cash handling, security, and emergency procedures, while ensuring all extras are in place according to our Standard Operating Procedures.

The Perks: What Is In It For You?

• Gym Membership: 2 x complimentary gym memberships at your home hotel.

• Hotel Stays: Hotel rooms from £20 across 34 hotels.

• Food & Drink: 50% off food and drink for you and up to 5 guests, plus 75% off Sunday dinner for up to 6 people.
