For more than 25 years, organizations have turned to Quickbase to solve operational challenges that off-the-shelf software wasn't built for. Today, we're building on that foundation with new products and new possibilities for how people create, adapt, and improve the systems their work depends on.

About the Role

As a Quality Engineering Manager, you will own the quality strategy for a significant product domain while leading a talented team of Quality Engineers supporting multiple engineering teams. Through your partnership with other Quality Engineering (QE) leaders, you’ll help shape and evolve our quality tooling and practices and continue to build a culture where quality is a shared responsibility.

Our teams support quality efforts across multiple product domains, invest heavily in automation, and embrace AI-assisted development. This role requires technical judgement, strong people leadership, and the ability to build trust across teams.

Success in this role is measured by the quality of the software your team helps deliver, the growth of the quality engineers you lead, and your ability to influence how quality is built into the software development lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 6–10 Quality Engineers supporting multiple engineering teams and product initiatives.
• Own the quality strategy for a product domain by partnering closely with other leaders, tech leads, and product managers to improve software quality, delivery predictability, and customer outcomes.
• Provides technical and architectural leadership in test automation, frameworks, CI/CD, and testing standards.
• Partner with QE leadership to define and evolve scalable quality practices and AI-assisted testing solutions, translate those into clear team priorities and goals, and drive consistent adoption to improve quality outcomes
• Balance competing priorities across multiple engineering teams, helping stakeholders understand tradeoffs while ensuring the highest-value work receives appropriate quality investment.
• Coach and mentor through clear, actionable feedback -- developing technical and leadership capabilities, clarifying promotion expectations, and supporting career growth.
• Lead teams through ambiguity, changing priorities, and organizational change while maintaining focus, engagement, and delivery excellence.
• Influence engineering teams to build quality earlier in the software development lifecycle through collaboration, data, and thoughtful decision-making.

About You

You believe quality engineering is much more than finding defects — it's a shared engineering responsibility woven into how software gets built. You also lead by helping others do their best work, and you measure your own success by theirs.

You will be successful in this role if you:

• Build trust quickly with your team and other leaders and teams in the organization.
• Lead with curiosity, active listening, empathy, and thoughtful communication.
• Make informed decisions in an environment where priorities can change or information is incomplete.
• Balance customer needs, quality, delivery timelines, and business priorities when making tradeoffs
• Create an inclusive, collaborative environment where individuals feel empowered to learn, experiment, and continuously improve.
• Believe your success is a reflection of the success, engagement, and growth of your team.

Experience We Think You'll Need

• Demonstrated success managing and developing a high-performing Quality Engineering team.
• Experience with or working knowledge of AI-assisted software development; including AI assisted test generation, model evaluation, and skills/playbooks.
• Experience developing and scaling quality processes that drive greater efficiency and support organizational growth.
• Experience leading and working with distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones.
• Understanding of fundamental quality engineering strategies and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to influence decisions on teams without direct authority.

Why Quickbase?

At Quickbase, Quality Engineering is a strategic partner in how software is built and this role carries real scope: you’ll help shape and evolve our quality strategy not just execute someone else's plan.

Quality Engineering is also at an inflection point. We're actively building what AI-assisted quality engineering looks like in practice, and this role has direct influence over how that evolves — not adopting a playbook someone else already wrote.

You'll do this alongside the rest of the QE leadership team -- sharing practices, tackling problems together, and growing together. You won't be leading in isolation.

If you want a role where your decisions shape how quality is built across a growing organization, and you want to help define what quality engineering looks like in an AI-driven future, we'd love to talk.
