Managing Consultant – Cloud Data Engineer | Melbourne

Stay technical. Lead engagements. Influence the solution.

We're looking for a Managing Consultant who can bridge the gap between strong technical delivery and trusted client advisory.

You'll lead modern Data & Analytics engagements while remaining close enough to the technology to challenge designs, shape architecture and help teams make good engineering decisions.

If you're at the point in your career where you want more ownership and influence without moving completely away from technical work, this role is designed for that.

What you'll do

• Lead Data & Analytics projects from discovery through delivery.

• Design modern, scalable data and analytics solutions.

• Work across data engineering, warehousing, integration, analytics, and cloud platforms.

• Lead small-to-medium delivery teams.

• Coach and mentor other consultants.

• Work directly with senior client stakeholders.

• Help shape proposals and technical approaches.

• Contribute to Altis methodologies and capability development.

What you'll bring

We're interested in people with experience across areas such as:

• Modern data engineering

• Data modelling and architecture

• Cloud data platforms experience - Snowflake, Databricks, Fabric, Azure or AWS

• dbt experience

• Data integration and ETL/ELT

• BI and analytics ecosystems

• Technical project leadership

• Client-facing consulting

You don't have to tick every box. Strong technical fundamentals, sound judgement, and the ability to create confidence with clients matter more than matching a checklist.

Why Altis?

For more than 25 years, Altis has focused on one thing: helping organisations create better outcomes through data.

We're Australian-owned and technology-agnostic, which means our consultants can focus on solving the right problem rather than selling a particular platform.

At Altis you'll have the opportunity to:

• Work across varied and challenging Data & AI engagements

• Learn from experienced specialists across consulting, engineering, analytics and AI

• Build your capability through ongoing learning and career development

• Work in a collaborative environment where you're encouraged to challenge ideas and contribute your own

• Work flexibly through our hybrid model

• Access health and wellbeing support for you and your family

• Access paid parental leave and our reward and recognition program

Our values — Be Curious, Own It, Lead with Heart and Discover a Way — shape how we work with our clients and with each other.

Your next move doesn't need to tick every box

If the role sounds like the direction you want your career to take but you don't meet every requirement listed, we'd still encourage you to apply.

Different experiences and perspectives make our teams stronger.

If you need adjustments or support at any stage of our recruitment process, let our Talent Acquisition team know and we'll work with you.

Ready to see your career differently? We'd love to hear from you.
