MC Truck Driver

Being on the road with us at Australia Post means freedom, fresh air, and work that moves with you. Kick off your day surrounded by a great bunch of people before heading out to deliver for your local community. Wherever the road takes you, you’re backed by a team that values safety, supports your wellbeing, and gives you room to grow.

About the opportunity

Are you motivated by getting behind the wheel of one of our iconic red trucks to deliver for customers? As our Heavy Vehicle Truck Driver, you’ll be the face of our trusted business, at the heart of your community and connecting businesses with their customers, and communities with each other day-in, day-out. You might not be working from home, but you’ll be on the road as a staple of your community, and it doesn’t get better than that!

You’ll be

• Safely loading your truck with cages for delivery.
• Completing your own daily vehicle safety check.
• Driving our modern trucks between our operational centres and customers, for deliveries and pick-ups.
• Returning to our operational centres to unload pick-ups.

About you

You’re a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable personality, who loves autonomy just as much as interacting with others and being a team player. You’re passionate about making a difference in the community.

You’ll also need to

• Hold a relevant heavy vehicle licence (MC license)
• Be safety-focused and understand the importance of the chain of responsibility.
• Have a customer-centric mindset and effective communication skills.
• Be fit enough to load and unload parcels of all different shapes, sizes and weights.
• Be prepared to provide a driving history report, undergo a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening and national police checks.

What else is in it for you?

• The perfect balance of a diverse, supportive team to connect with and your own time and space on the road by yourself
• Working hours that gives you flexibility to make space for what’s important to you either before or after work
• Your safety and wellbeing is prioritised above everything else, so you go home the same way you came to work
• Opportunities for training, growth and development with pathways in transport or other areas of the business
• Discounts and offers on lots of your favourite brands via Post Perks for more cash in your pocket, plus access to other health and wellbeing resources

All walks, one route

It takes a lot of us to deliver for every Australian – and it’s important to us that our people behind the parcels reflect the people receiving them. We come from all walks. Different backgrounds, different ages, different genders, different sexualities and different abilities, but we all believe in the same purpose.

We welcome people all ages, genders and backgrounds – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and refugees. We’re a Disability Confident Recruiter, committed to making our hiring process and workplace inclusive and barrier-free. We’re also working hard to remove bias and build a gender-equitable experience for everyone who joins us. If you’ve got questions about accessibility, reach out to our Diversity & Inclusion team at inclusivecareers@auspost.com.au or on 03 8737 9415.
