Position Summary
Redtree is seeking an on-site Mechanical Engineering Support professional to serve as a mechanical technical resource for the Owner's local Project Managers, installing contractors, mechanical vendors, and QA/QC providers. Working alongside the DCS Mechanical Engineer, this role supports issue resolution, hands-on troubleshooting, and critical commissioning activities across mechanical systems on active data center / mission-critical construction projects.
You Will…
● Be a mechanical technical resource for the Owner's local Project Managers, installing contractors, mechanical vendors, and QA/QC providers for issue resolution, working with the DCS Mechanical Engineer.
● Coordinate with the DCE-ME for hands-on troubleshooting activities and repair plans, and participate in critical commissioning of mechanical equipment such as process water systems, critical cooling air handlers, fuel oil systems, and any first-of-a-kind (FOAK) equipment.
● Review and comment on preliminary and final TAB reports, verifying that system performance matches the drawings and specifications.
● Review contractor RFIs and coordinate with the DCE-ME and A/E on high-cost or schedule-impact items.
● Verify device installation matches approved coordination during field walks, and identify equipment or valve access and operation conflicts with other trades.
● Review all fuel delivery bills of lading (BOL) and fuel testing results prior to introduction into the generator fuel system, to ensure compliance with Owner's specifications.
● Identify items required to incorporate temporary services and flushing plans, and review and comment on mechanical equipment and ductwork protection plans provided by others.
● Review field procedures, progress, and results of flushing plans (process chilled water, chilled water, chemical dosing, fuel oil, etc.) to confirm systems are cleaned per the approved flush plan, including setup of flushing equipment and temporary and permanent piping and valve arrangements.
