The work includes developing hydraulic models and calculations for process water and Newtonian and non-Newtonian slurries, including settling and non-settling transport in pressurized pipelines and open channels. Projects range from concept studies and feasibility through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning. The team also supports selected hydropower and other water-infrastructure projects.
A firm understanding of the below is required.
- Turbomachinery and control equipment (gates, valves, chokes) as well as an advanced familiarity understanding of the relevant U.S. & international codes for pipe, materials, & equipment (ASME, AWWA, API, ASTM, ANSI, AWS, BS, ISO)
- Electrical, instrumentation and controls to allow for an effective and efficient collaboration with the electrical design team
Responsibilities:
- Hydraulic, process, mechanical and piping design
- Assist in the development of studies from concept to implementation
- Concepts, feasibility, and detailed designs for pumping & piping systems
- Review project calculations, specifications, and drawings to meet code and quality requirements
- Preparation of detailed specifications, data sheets, calculations, and reports
- Develop the preparation of drawings, P&IDs and schematics
