We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Data Engineer to join our team in Reston, VA and support data-driven initiatives. The Mid-Level Data Engineer will play a key role in data cleaning, basic analysis, and preparing data for visualization. This position will support dashboard development, AI-based analysis, data preprocessing, quality assurance, data integration, and the creation of meaningful visualizations that support customer requirements.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of data products and analytical solutions that enable informed decision-making. This role requires the ability to work with both structured and unstructured data and apply data engineering, visualization, and AI/ML techniques to meet customer and mission requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and basic analysis to prepare datasets for visualization and downstream use.
Develop dashboards and conduct analysis using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques.
Perform data preprocessing, quality checks, validation, and data integration activities.
Create clear, accurate, and meaningful data visualizations to support analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
Provide quality assurance for data products, analyses, dashboards, visualizations, and related deliverables.
Develop interactive dashboards using tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Apply artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) models and techniques to support analysis of unstructured and complex data.
Collaborate with team members and customers to understand data requirements and develop solutions that effectively address mission and business needs.
Required Skills:U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the labor category, such as Information Technology, Information Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or Data Engineering, from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and must be able to obtain a polygraph. Polygraph must have been completed within the last 10% of the required experience period.Eight (8) years of experience providing data engineering and visualization support, with at least a portion of that experience obtained within the last two (2) years.
Demonstrated experience with data cleaning, preprocessing, quality assurance, data integration, analysis, and visualization.
