Mid/Senior Data Scientist (Incogni)

Our Data Science team, working across Surfshark and Incogni products, is looking for a skilled Data Scientist. Our projects cover a broad spectrum of data science challenges, from time series modeling to traditional NLP and generative AI. We follow a value-driven approach and are deeply committed to the growth and success of our products. If you're enthusiastic about cybersecurity, data protection, and data science, we'd love to see your application.

If you want to:

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning solutions for real-world problems, including classification, entity matching, and extraction, as well as LLM-powered text analysis;

• Write clean, efficient, and testable Python code for data pipelines, feature engineering, modeling, and evaluation;

• Own models end to end: problem framing, data exploration, model selection, validation, deployment, and iteration;

• Work closely with product and engineering teams to turn ambiguous problems into concrete, data-driven solutions;

• Explore, evaluate, and apply modern ML approaches, from established algorithms to state-of-the-art techniques, balancing model performance, complexity, and real-world impact;

• Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, focusing on decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes to drive informed business decisions.

And you can check off:

• Proven experience in applied machine learning, with a track record of independently owning and delivering ML projects from problem definition to validated results or production;

• Strong NLP background, including hands-on experience with text classification, embeddings, and LLM-based systems;

• Advanced Python skills, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code;

• Solid SQL skills and experience working with large, imperfect, real-world datasets;

• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, model evaluation, and common failure modes;

• Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into practical ML solutions, make informed technical decisions, and communicate results and trade-offs clearly;

• Experience with collaborative development practices, including version control, code reviews, testing, and reproducible experimentation;

• Comfort with AI-assisted coding tools to improve development efficiency, while maintaining high standards for code quality, correctness, and maintainability.

Here’s the deal:

• Growth and learning opportunities: time dedicated to learning, conferences, online learning platforms, and books for your professional development;

• Health and wellness: we want you to feel and be your best. That's why we offer various benefits, from online workouts and a physical coach to health insurance and regular mental health checks;

• Tools of your choice: choose the technical equipment and tools you need to do your best work;

• Community and celebrations: get ready for long-lasting traditions such as yearly workation, Friday get-togethers, various team buildings and company celebrations;

• Work-life balance: We encourage working in the office, with the possibility of up to two remote days per week. Plus, with our WFA policy, you can work from almost anywhere in the world;

• More days off: additional vacation days depending on your tenure;

• Premium Surfshark accounts: for you, your family, and friends;

• Gross salary: 3500-6800 Eur/month. Although it may vary depending on your skills and experience.
