Full description
Join an international group, a leader in low-carbon growth and committed to tackling climate change.
NUWARD, an EDF subsidiary, is dedicated to developing the Group’s small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). NUWARD is designing a multi-energy platform capable of delivering low-carbon, competitive electricity and heat to meet the needs of industry and cities.
Our SMR, known as the “NUWARD_SMR”, features a simple, modular, and prefabricated design, drawing on the proven technologies and expertise of the existing nuclear fleet.
Our ambition: to deliver Europe’s first SMR during the 2030s. Do you want to help build a safe, low-carbon, and competitive energy future for Europe? Join us on this journey!
You will join a dynamic and collaborative team based in Tours, reporting to the Head of Construction, Modularity and Constructability. Operationally, you will work closely with the Conventional Island and Balance of Plant (CI-BOP) Senior Project Manager.
YOUR MISSIONS
As a Modularity & Constructability Integration Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of nuclear energy by optimizing our SMR projects for efficiency and competitiveness.
- Strategic Integration & Design Optimization
- Lead the integration of modularity and constructability strategies into the Basic Design phase of our Conventional Island and Balance of Plant (CI-BOP) projects.
- Develop and implement technical recommendations and requirements, guiding architects and project teams to optimize building layouts for modular construction.
- Proactively identify and propose innovative solutions to enhance project modularity and constructability, directly contributing to our SMR series competitiveness.
- Planning, Coordination & Cost Efficiency
- Drive the execution of modularity and constructability activities, ensuring adherence to the Basic Design Schedule and leveraging advanced methodologies like Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and Functional Grouping.
- Collaborate with technical and project control teams to quantify and maximize cost, schedule, and risk savings through effective modularity and constructability solutions.
- Organize and facilitate site plan reviews and specialized constructability/modularity reviews, ensuring alignment across all CI-BOP resources.
- Industrialization & Construction Support
- Advise CI-BOP teams on critical manufacturing, assembly, and construction impacts, coordinating expert reviews with our Constructability, Modularity, and Commissionability (CMC) team and other key stakeholders.
- Partner with supply chain and industrial teams to define robust construction sequences, methods, and verify industrial feasibility, including critical logistics and site organization.
- Support the construction scheduling process, from excavation to industrial commissioning, ensuring a streamlined and efficient project timeline for the CI-BOP island.
