Mortgage Loan Officer

We're seeking an experienced and motivated Mortgage Loan Officer to serve as a trusted advisor throughout the home financing journey and actively grow our mortgage lending portfolio through business development and community engagement.

In this role, you'll help members navigate home purchases, refinances, and home equity financing while cultivating relationships with real estate professionals, builders, and community partners to generate new mortgage business.

Responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:

• Provide guidance to members on loan products and rates.

• Manage mortgage loan origination and processing.

• Loan analysis and underwriting preparation.

• Coordinate loan documentation, closing and servicing.

• Ensure regulatory compliance and licensing requirements are met.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Prior mortgage lending/origination experience preferred.

• Prior Credit Union experience preferred.

• Strong financial analysis and decision-making skills.

• Strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, secondary market requirements, interest rates, escrow accounts, and loan servicing processes.

• Thorough knowledge of federal and state mortgage lending regulations, disclosure requirements, and NMLS licensing standards.

This position will be located in Ludington, MI. Travel may be required.
