OneTrust - Principal Software Engineer - Java

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to design and build highly scalable, secure, and resilient backend systems for enterprise SaaS applications.

The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, microservices, and modern Java technologies, with the ability to drive technical strategy while remaining hands-on.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and RESTful APIs.

• Architect cloud-native, multi-tenant, and highly available microservices for enterprise-scale SaaS platforms.

• Design and optimize distributed systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, security, and performance.

• Develop and maintain data models across SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring efficient query performance and scalability.

• Build event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.

• Lead architecture discussions, conduct code reviews, and establish engineering best practices.

• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple teams.

• Drive automation through CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure improvements, and developer productivity initiatives.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive continuous improvements in system reliability and performance.

• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering efficiency and software quality.

Required Skills :

• 8 to 12 years of experience in software development, with strong expertise in enterprise application architecture.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and RESTful API development.

• Proven experience designing distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native applications.

• Strong expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, including schema design, optimization, and performance tuning.

• Experience with Kafka or similar event streaming and messaging platforms.

• Hands-on experience with Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.

• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing.

• Experience building secure, highly available, and scalable enterprise SaaS platforms.
