Paid Media Manager, Amazon PPC (Amazon Advertising, Sr. Level)

🚀 A Seat Where Your Optimizations Show Up in the P&L!

📍 Role: Paid Media Manager, Amazon PPC (Amazon Advertising, Sr. Level)
📍 Location: San Diego, CA 92101 (Onsite at Symphony Towers)
💰 Compensation Range: $90,000 - $120,000 DOE

At Luminize, we help brands win, and as one of the top 5 Amazon sellers in the US, we’re looking for top performers to grow with us.

We’re shaping brand stories, driving scalable growth, and setting new standards for what performance looks like on the world’s biggest retail platform. We’re looking for a Paid Media Manager, Amazon PPC to lead digital ad campaigns for Amazon and other retail media platforms. In this role, you will own strategy, guide junior team members, and help shape the future of our ad services.

If you want your next move to mean more - more ownership, more growth, and more impact - we would love to meet you!

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing

• Build and restructure Sponsored Products, Brands and Display campaigns across your brands
• Run waste audits, set negation thresholds and defend them with numbers
• Decide where branded spend is worth it and where organic rank already has it covered
• Take a bad metric and turn it into a good one, then explain in a client meeting exactly what you changed and why
• Mentor junior team members and share your expertise
• Sit in the room with brand management, content, catalog and supply chain teams to collaborate on growth strategies for our brands

✅ What You Bring

• Hands-on management of Amazon Sponsored Products or Sponsored Brands inside Ad Console within the last 12 months. Hands-on Google Ads or Microsoft Ads paid search within the last 12 months also counts - we have hired strong paid search people into this seat and it worked.
• 5+ years in digital advertising, with your most recent platform work no more than 18 months old
• Fluency in negation strategy, match types and harvesting
• Google Sheets & Excel analysis
• Comfortable presenting data and defending a recommendation directly to clients
• Able to work onsite in San Diego 5 days a week

##

➕ Nice to have, not required

• Agency or multi-brand seller experience
• Perpetua, Helium 10 or similar tooling
• Walmart Connect, Instacart Ads or other retail media breadth
• Experience mentoring junior strategists or owning training content
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or a related field, or the equivalent in experience

🔎 You may currently be a…

Different companies call this job different things. If your title is one of these, you are probably in the right place:

Amazon PPC Manager, Amazon PPC Specialist, Amazon Advertising Manager, Amazon Ads Manager, Sponsored Ads Manager, Retail Media Manager, Retail Media Specialist, Marketplace Advertising Manager, Amazon Account Manager (if you personally run the ads), Ecommerce Advertising Manager, Paid Search Manager, SEM Manager, PPC Manager (Google Ads), Performance Marketing Manager (retail media), Amazon Brand Manager (if ads are yours), Walmart Connect / Instacart Ads Manager

One honest filter before you spend time applying: this seat is Amazon sponsored advertising. If your Amazon experience is Amazon DSP, Amazon Marketing Cloud or programmatic display only, with no hands-on Sponsored Products or Sponsored Brands reps, this is not the right seat for you and we would rather be upfront.

📅 Your first 90 days

Your first two weeks are spent learning our processes and meeting the people you will work with daily. Over the following 90 days you learn the Luminize advertising methodology by shadowing strategists on live accounts and working through real scenarios from our book. After one to two months you take on your first directly managed accounts with manager oversight, and you ramp toward a full book of 7 to 10 brands. Roughly 60 to 70 percent of your week is heads-down execution inside the platform.

🏙 Work From Symphony Towers

Your office comes with a view, literally.

• Panoramic city and coastline views from your workspace
• Free building gym access, no separate membership
• 24/7 paid downtown parking, blocks from the office, plus secure bike storage
• Exclusive discounts at tower restaurants and cafes
• Steps from 100+ top-rated bars, restaurants, coffee shops and Petco Park
• Ergonomic standing desks and premium workstations
• Fully stocked kitchen, snacks, espresso
• Monthly all-company lunches, and a team lounge with a pool table for when you need twenty minutes away from a bid sheet

Why Are We In Office?

Because we own the inventory, an ad decision here is never just an ad decision. It touches what we bought, what is in stock, what the listing says and what the brand promised. The strategists who do best here are the ones who can walk to the brand manager's desk, get the answer in ninety seconds and change the bid before the day is out. That loop does not survive a calendar invite.

The upside is that you are in the room where the decisions actually get made, and you will learn this business faster than you would anywhere remote.

Relocating?

Relocation support is available for the right candidate, and we fly finalists in for their onsite. Tell us early in the process and we will work it out with you rather than at the end.

🎁 Benefits & Perks

You do great work here and we want to take care of you outside of it, too.

• Comprehensive medical coverage, choose from multiple plans through Anthem Blue Cross
• Dental & vision, including orthodontia and annual exams
• Pet benefits, savings on vet care, products, and services
• Paid Vacation, accrue 120 hours a year, with rollover
• Paid holidays and sick time
• 401(k) with company match, we invest in your future, too

💵 Compensation Transparency

We’ve listed a broad salary range of $90,000-$120,000/year to account for varying levels of experience, skill sets, and leadership depth. Where you land in the range will depend on how your background aligns with this role.

We are committed to compensating based on value and impact, not just years on paper, and we are happy to have open conversations throughout the process.

📈 Growth & Career Opportunities at Luminize

Above this seat is our Principal advertising role, and above that is advertising leadership. We publish leveling guidelines, so you will know what the next rung requires before you are asked to reach for it. We have a strong track record of promoting from within. Many of our team leads started as individual contributors, and we hire externally only when we have to.

You will also get mentorship from managers in 1:1s and annual reviews, cross-functional exposure to content, brand management, software, supply chain, catalog and operations, and Udemy course access plus additional training.
