Performance Marketing Lead

Why Instant

Instant is the world’s first AI-powered marketing manager built for ecommerce. Today, we’re quickly becoming the most important piece of technology to help the fastest growing brands on the planet to significantly scale their revenue - on autopilot. We're reinventing how brands bring their lost shoppers back to purchase through AI-powered email and SMS retention marketing. Our ambition is to be just as important and essential as Meta when it comes to helping an ecommerce brand scale.

This is a rare chance to help build a generational company at a true inflection point. Today, we service over 2,000+ of the worlds fastest growing brands like ThirdLove, David Protein, July Luggage and Meshki, with Instant generating over 30% of our customers annualised revenue. We have strong backing of world-class investors with over $35M raised from Blackbird, Hummingbird and Hubspot.

We hire builders, because we're scaling fast, but consider ourselves Day 1. The work is ambitious, the talent bar is high, and the opportunity for growth - personal, professional, and financial - is unmatched. Instant would be the fastest moving company you’d ever be a part of in your career. So, if you consider yourself ambitious, we invite you to join us!

The role

We are building the world’s most AI-enabled performance marketing function, and we want you to lead it. As our Performance Marketing Lead, you'll be at the forefront of our ambitious growth trajectory from $10M > $50M ARR and beyond.

The Performance Marketing Lead drives Instant’s revenue growth through performance marketing. You will own 7-figure budgets across our paid acquisition engine and lead a lean, ambitious team that floods our sales team with high-quality, top-of-funnel opportunities.

We are an AI company, and our performance marketing team works like one. You will use AI to do the work of a much larger team, to test more ideas, ship faster, and spend smarter. We take internal tools very seriously, because how we work internally is our competitive edge. We run an increasingly custom stack of tools, and you will contribute heavily to it. You will be supported by one of the best performance agencies in the world, and work closely with our in-house design team.

We’ve built an incredible engine to date. The majority of our US leads already come from Meta, and we have a stable budget and a strategy that works. You will be taking this working channel, alongside our COO, and tripling it within the next 12 months.

What you’ll be doing:

• Engineer a high-velocity inbound machine (100+ new ad creatives/month and ramping as our tooling improves, 10+ campaigns/month), managing a team of 4 to fuel double-digit % MoM US growth.

• Paid wins through creative. Own creative strategy, from new angles and hooks to ad copy and briefs. Bring a robust creative testing workflow to constantly level up the quality and win rate of the hundreds of ads you’ll launch each month.

• Data informs all decisions. Turn reporting into clear priorities to grow MQL volume, improve lead quality and lower paid CAC.

• Paid channels are our most reliable source of growth, delivering high-quality leads and self-serve customers at a predictable and efficient cost.

• Every dollar of spend is tracked to pipeline and revenue, and we know which channels, campaigns, and creative earn their budget.

• The team moves faster than any growth team, launching and learning from dozens of new experiments every week.

• AI is built into how the team works, from creative and copy to analysis and reporting, so a small team delivers outsized, ambitious results.

Responsibilities

• Own performance marketing, primarily across Meta. Set budgets, targets, and bidding strategy, and scale what works.

• Run a high-speed program of experiments on audiences, offers, creative, and landing pages to lower CAC and increase conversion.

• Work closely with Sales to understand which leads convert and why, then use that feedback to improve targeting, creative and lead quality.

• Use AI tools and automation throughout the team’s work, and help build our custom internal tooling, to increase output, speed, and efficiency.

• Build and own attribution and reporting so we can connect spend to SQLs, self-serve revenue, and payback.

• Work closely with our in-house design team and web engineer to ship and test landing pages quickly.

• Improve conversion from first click to booked demo and paying customers across our sales and self-serve funnels.

• Lead, hire, and develop a lean, high-output growth marketing team.

• Work with our performance agency, and hold them to clear performance targets.

• Build a library of customer case studies that prove the value of Instant and strengthen paid campaigns.

What you Have

• 3 to 5 years of performance marketing experience, scaling ad spend. You have deep Meta expertise and a track record of personally scaling campaigns while improving acquisition efficiency.

• Instant speed is next level! You’ll be expected to execute quickly, produce quality work fast, communicate effectively and iterate/pivot as necessary.

• You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.

• You’re a self thinker with a strategic mindset, understanding areas of opportunity.

• You execute flawlessly (directly & via others) and take your projects across the finish line.

• Proven experience in paid inbound growth and self-serve user acquisition. You’re able to make an immediate impact.

• Ability to manage projects end-to-end with a practical, results-driven approach

Who you are

We’re looking for exceptional individuals who combine technical excellence with ethical awareness, who are excited by hard problems and motivated by human impact. You’ll strive with us if you:

• Are a highly motivated and driven individual with a strong work ethic. Our team is aware of this critical moment of marketing AI evolution and is committed to going the extra mile to lead.

• Are analytical, efficient, and strive on solving complex challenges with a first principles mindset.

• Consistently strive for excellence, delivering high-quality work quickly and exceeding expectations.

• Take initiative and work autonomously from day one, prioritizing learning and contribution while leaving ego aside.

How we work

• Speed always wins: High-velocity, rapid experimentation, lean autonomous teams. This is the fastest place you will ever work.

• Impact not job titles: We don’t have fancy job titles and million layers. Instead, it’s about the impact you have, our customers and product. No task is above or beneath you.

• AI first: We use AI to move faster with higher-quality results. We do this across the whole company—from engineering to growth to operations. You are committed to an AI-first way of working.

• Global team: We prioritize your talent, not your location.
