Full description
We’re looking for a Platform Engineer to give our product teams the infrastructure, tooling, and automation they need to ship reliably and move fast. You will treat our internal platform as a product in its own right - designing and running the CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling that our Product Engineers rely on every day. Like everyone in Product Engineering, you’ll avoid working in a silo: you’ll stay close to how the product actually runs, and pick up work outside strict infrastructure boundaries where it’s the right thing to do.
About Onetrace Great products start with great people.
Our focus on user experience has helped us become the leading software for fire protection subcontractors across the UK. We build tools that actually work on the ground - fast, intuitive, and simple to use.
Onetrace is growing quickly, recognised as one of the fastest-growing companies in the UK and in London’s construction sector. We’re bootstrapped, profitable, and on a mission to become a global ConTech leader.
Join a smart, ambitious team where your ideas matter and your work shapes what’s next. Learn more about life at onetrace here .
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that let product teams ship safely and frequently
- Own and evolve our cloud infrastructure (AWS), balancing reliability, scalability, security, and cost
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code so environments are reproducible, auditable, and easy to reason about
- Implement and improve monitoring, logging, and observability so issues are caught early and diagnosed quickly
- Build self-service tooling and clear documentation so product teams can provision, deploy, and debug without waiting on a ticket
- Partner with Product Engineers to understand where infrastructure or tooling is slowing delivery, and prioritise platform improvements against real developer pain points
- Champion security, performance, and operational best practices across the engineering team
- Develop internal tools, improve test infrastructure, and occasionally work on product features
- Leverage AI to improve engineering workflows by building cloud-based agent tools and helping teams adopt effective practices
Beyond the tech
We are building a team of Product Engineers because we believe the most impactful work comes from those who are closest to the problems we’re solving. For us, engineering is not just about executing a specification; it’s about taking ownership of the user experience and the business outcome. Our engineers are partners in discovery and strategy, empowered to question assumptions, contribute to the ‘why,’ and use their technical creativity to build not just what is asked for, but what our users truly need.
