About the Role
We're a small, fast-moving bank, and our cloud environment is core to everything we build. As a Senior Cloud Architect, you'll own our AWS environment end to end — designing it, running it, securing it, and setting the standards we grow into. This is a hands-on role with real autonomy and unusually direct impact: you won't be one architect among many, you'll be our cloud function. What You'll Own
- The design, operation, and security of Monet's entire AWS environment.
- The migration and modernization path for key workloads to the cloud.
- The automation, resilience, and cost standards the rest of the team builds against.
Core Responsibilities (Essential duties include, but are not limited to):
Architecture & delivery
- Design and operate scalable, secure, cost-effective AWS architectures across compute, storage, data, and networking.
- Lead cloud migration and modernization with minimal disruption to the business.
Automation & operations
- Drive Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD so provisioning is consistent, repeatable, and auditable.
- Own monitoring, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and cost optimization; design backup and multi-region failover strategies.
- Maintain clear architecture documentation and data-flow diagrams for operations and audit.
Security & compliance
- Define and enforce cloud security standards (network design, encryption, and identity & access management) aligned to banking regulations.
- Partner with Security and Risk to keep the architecture compliant by design.
Collaboration
- Work directly across a small, cross-functional team, and help establish engineering standards as the team grows.
