Principal Product Manager: POC (Cost Engineering)

True ValueHub is an AI-native B2B SaaS solution for manufacturing companies. We help manufacturing companies save costs on direct material procurement. Our AI engine provides visibility into the true cost of manufacturing products and components globally and reduces sourcing cycle time and new product introduction time to market. We provide detailed total landed cost insights for buyers and suppliers and a secure collaboration platform. Our award-winning technology has been rated as a leading solution in our segment.

We are in a growth phase, rapidly scaling our platform and customer base. Our team moves fast, communicates openly, and obsesses over solving real problems for manufacturers navigating today's complex global supply chain.

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to own and drive our Cost Engineering module, a core capability that helps manufacturers understand what their parts should cost, could cost, and best cost, identify savings opportunities, and make better design and sourcing decisions.

This module sits at the intersection of design engineering and procurement, enabling both teams to collaborate around a shared understanding of cost. It includes capabilities like should-cost modeling, cost breakdown analysis, design-to-cost feedback, supplier cost benchmarking, and parametric estimating.

The module is expanding rapidly with new capabilities. You'll shape its roadmap, deepen its value for customers, and ensure it remains a key differentiator as we scale. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role. You'll work directly with customers, collaborate closely with engineering and design, and report to the VP of Product. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love solving complex problems for manufacturing customers, and want to build something that matters, this is the role.

Responsibilities:Own the Cost Engineering Module

• Define and drive the product roadmap for the Cost Engineering module.
• Prioritize ruthlessly based on customer impact, business value, and technical feasibility.
• Balance near-term customer needs with long-term platform scalability.

Go Deep with Customers

• Conduct customer interviews, discovery calls, and on-site visits to understand pain points, workflows, and unmet needs.
• Translate customer insights into clear product requirements and user stories.
• Serve as the voice of the customer internally—ensuring we're solving real problems, not hypothetical ones.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

• Partner with engineering to deliver high-quality releases on time.
• Work with UI/UX to create intuitive, user-friendly experiences for both procurement and engineering users.
• Align with sales, customer success, and marketing to support go-to-market efforts and gather feedback from the field.

Drive Execution

• Define clear success metrics and track product performance post-launch.
• Run sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release coordination.
• Communicate progress, trade-offs, and decisions clearly to stakeholders at all levels.

Shape the Future

• Identify opportunities to expand the module's capabilities—whether through new features, integrations, or AI/ML enhancements.
• Stay close to market trends, competitive dynamics, and evolving customer needs in discrete manufacturing.

Qualifications:Experience

• 8+ years of product management experience, with a strong track record of owning and scaling B2B SaaS products.
• Deep domain expertise in discrete manufacturing—ideally with direct experience in cost engineering, procurement, sourcing, or engineering/PLM workflows.
• Experience working with both technical and business stakeholders, and the ability to bridge the gap between them.
• Startup experience is highly desirable.

Skills

• Strong business and customer orientation—you start with the problem, not the solution.
• Ability to translate complex, ambiguous customer needs into clear product direction.
• Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and visual. You can present to executives and whiteboard with engineers with equal ease.
• Comfort with data—you use metrics to inform decisions and measure success.
• Technical fluency—you don't need to write code, but you can engage deeply with engineers on architecture, data models, and trade-offs.

Mindset

• Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving priorities.
• Bias toward action—you move quickly, learn fast, and iterate.
• Collaborative and low-ego—you build trust across teams and bring people along.
• Curious and customer-obsessed—you dig until you understand the real problem.

Education

• Engineering degree required (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field).
• MBA or advanced degree is a plus, but not required.
