Salary: $250k
This is an opportunity for an experienced Principal Solutions Architect to take ownership of architecture across security, cloud and applications, while establishing and maturing enterprise architecture practices. Working directly with the CTO and alongside an established Integration Architect, you'll help define how technology supports business growth, operational efficiency and innovation.
With significant investment in modern Microsoft technologies, data and AI, this is a hands-on, high-impact role where your architectural decisions will have a tangible influence on how the business operates.
As the senior architectural authority, you will translate business strategy and operational requirements into secure, scalable and commercially sound technology solutions.
Your responsibilities will span security architecture, cloud and platform strategy, application modernisation and enterprise architecture governance. You'll work closely with technical teams, vendors and senior business stakeholders to ensure technology decisions align with the organisation's strategic objectives.
Key responsibilitiesSecurity Architecture
- Own and implement the security architecture roadmap across identity, network, applications and data.
- Establish and lead an Architecture Review Board, embedding secure-by-design principles across new solutions and cloud workloads.
- Partner with data engineering, IT operations and external security specialists on risk assessments, threat modelling and remediation.
- Ensure architectural decisions support relevant compliance, data handling, access control and vendor risk requirements.
Cloud & Platform Architecture
- Own the target-state architecture across a Microsoft-centric, multi-cloud environment spanning Azure and AWS.
- Define standards for cloud governance, identity, landing zones, infrastructure as code, resilience and disaster recovery.
- Work with the Integration Architect to maintain consistency across shared cloud components and application services.
- Guide the evolution of the Microsoft Fabric data and analytics platform and the governance of Microsoft Copilot adoption.
Application Architecture
- Define and maintain the application architecture roadmap across core business platforms, including construction, project delivery, HR and workplace systems.
- Lead architectural design and oversight for new initiatives and custom internal applications.
- Drive application rationalisation and modernisation, reducing unnecessary complexity and fragmentation.
- Provide architectural guidance on technology selection, solution design and build-versus-buy decisions, considering total cost of ownership.
