Project Manager - IT Infrastructure & Cloud Delivery (US Client Services)

Cloudbox is a global IT managed service provider (MSP) with a strong focus on financial services and other high-demand industries. We deliver fully outsourced IT solutions built on best-in-class public cloud and SaaS technologies, prioritising security, stability, and exceptional client experience. This is a high-intensity, fast-paced delivery environment that values ownership, clarity, confident communication, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the onboarding of new US-based clients, acting as the primary point of coordination and communication.

• Confidently run client-facing meetings, project kick-offs, and regular delivery updates with US stakeholders.

• Initiate and manage projects in line with Cloudbox project management frameworks, tools, and governance processes.

• Partner closely with the Senior Project Manager in New York to ensure alignment on delivery approach, standards, and client expectations.

• Plan and manage cloud infrastructure projects across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), including migrations, environment builds, and configuration workstreams.

• Oversee email and data migration projects (e.g. tenant-to-tenant migrations, mailbox moves, and data archiving initiatives), coordinating technical resources and client sign-off at each stage.

• Manage projects involving Microsoft 365 backend administration, including tenant configuration, licensing, and security baseline rollouts.

• Coordinate the implementation of conditional access and identity security policies as part of client onboarding and ongoing service delivery.

• Identify, engage, and manage client and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

• Create, assign, and track project tasks, ensuring timely commencement and completion by all contributors.

• Monitor project progress against agreed scope, timelines, and budgets, proactively addressing risks and delays.

• Maintain and manage project snag lists, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.

• Ensure project management systems, status reports, and documentation are accurate and kept current.

• Coordinate internal Cloudbox service teams, third parties, and vendors in a high-intensity delivery environment.

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation including decision logs, change records, and lessons learned.

• Maintain a strong commercial awareness, ensuring projects remain within scope and protecting Cloudbox's financial interests.

Qualifications

• A formal project management qualification is required (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).

• Microsoft, cloud, or security-related certifications are strongly preferred given the technical nature of this role — for example Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals/Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner/Solutions Architect, or Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years' experience in a technology-focused organisation is required. Prior experience in an MSP, professional services firm, or similarly high-pressure, fast-moving environment is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate should have hands-on or project-management-level exposure to the following, and be comfortable working directly with technical teams on each:

• Cloud infrastructure platforms — Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Email and data migration projects, including tenant-to-tenant migrations and data archiving solutions.

• Microsoft 365 backend administration — tenant configuration, licensing, and security settings.

• Identity and access security, including conditional access policy design and rollout.

• Experience working with US-based clients or distributed international teams is a strong advantage.

Working Hours

The successful candidate will work a 45-hour week, Monday to Friday, aligned to US business hours. Typical working hours will be approximately 14:00 to 23:00 South African time. Some flexibility may be required to support client needs or critical project milestones.

Benefits

Cloudbox offers a competitive total cost to company package including medical aid, group life cover, and connectivity benefits. Benefit details will be discussed during the recruitment process and confirmed as part of the offer and contract documentation.
