Why Stifel
Stifel strives for a culture that puts its clients and associates first: a culture where everyone belongs, everyone is welcome, and everyone contributes to the success of our clients, their careers, and the firm as a whole.
Let’s talk about how you can find your place here at Stifel, where success meets success.
What You'll Be Doing
Stifel’s Public Finance Department is the investment banking division within the firm’s Municipal Securities Group. The Public Finance Department originates a range of financings within public and private markets and across public sector and private sector entities. Bankers gain exposure to a variety of infrastructure financing strategies, sectors and to investors in the public and private credit universe. In addition to investment banking, Stifel’s Municipal Securities Group includes institutional sales, trading and underwriting. Primary markets covered from the Los Angeles office include general state and local government, real estate development, transportation, utilities and project finance.
Under the direction of senior bankers, with a growing level of autonomy, Analysts provide general investment banking support and assist with pitchbooks, financing proposals and transaction execution. Analysts typically function in a team setting, alongside experienced junior bankers and senior team members. The ability to multi-task and communicate clearly are required skills. The desire to learn and willingness to work outside of normal business hours are also necessary.
Analysts participate in junior banker training sessions with colleagues from offices located throughout the country. Some travel is expected.
