Job Description
The Quality Engineer designs, develops, and maintains automated quality solutions that provide fast, reliable feedback throughout the delivery lifecycle. Working as an embedded member of an Agile engineering team, this role combines exploratory testing with code-based automation across services, interfaces, data flows, and user experiences.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:• Translate requirements and acceptance criteria into maintainable automated tests and focused exploratory testing for functional and integration risks.
• Develop automation for APIs, services, web, interfaces, databases, events, and end-to-end business workflows using approved frameworks and coding standards.
• Apply the test pyramid and risk-based coverage principles, emphasizing stable unit-adjacent, component, API, contract, and integration checks over brittle end-to-end tests.
• Create reusable test utilities, fixtures, page or service objects, data builders, mocks, and service-virtualization assets that improve delivery speed and maintainability.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines; diagnose failures, remove flaky behavior, and keep execution time and feedback quality within team targets.
• Validate positive, negative, boundary, error-handling, authorization, compatibility, accessibility, and recovery scenarios appropriate to the product risk.
• Prepare and manage test data in accordance with privacy, security, masking, retention, and environment-control requirements.
• Review stories, designs, code changes, logs, and telemetry to identify testability gaps and defects before release.
