Quality Assurance Engineer

Overview

Would you like to help enrich the lives of learners around the world?

At RM, we’ve been pioneers of education technology since 1973. We provide technology and resources to the education sector, supporting over 20 million students and improving educational outcomes worldwide.

What we do helps learners at all stages of their lives, from preschool to higher education and professional qualification; we partner with schools, examination boards, governments, and professional organisations globally to make learning more accessible, more engaging, and more impactful.

RM operates through two divisions: Assessment (digital assessment and marking solutions) and Technology (managed services, hardware, and software for schools)

Within the assessment market we are experts in providing solutions for online exam testing and marking and the management and analysis of educational data. We work with government ministries, exam boards and professional awarding bodies for high stakes assessment such as GCSEs, A Levels, and professional qualifications. Each year, our software is used globally to conduct hundreds of thousands of on-screen tests and to mark millions of paper-based scripts. For over a decade we have been partnering with the world’s leading awarding bodies to deliver intuitive, secure, and reliable e-marking solutions.

As a QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability and accesibility of our platform by focusing on automation and collaboration. Reporting to the Engineering Manager of your team, you will work closely with developers, architects, principals, product owners, and other QA Engineers to deliver high-quality software that meets user needs and aligns with organizational goals.

This role is about embedding quality into every phase of development. From analyzing requirements and creating test plans to implementing manual and automated tests and validating releases, you will be integral to delivering exceptional software. Working as part of a cross-functional team, you’ll ensure testing plans are robust, efficient, and scalable.

We take a data-driven approach to QA, using metrics and insights to continuously refine our processes, improve coverage, and guide decision-making. The scope of testing goes beyond functional validation, encompassing Accessibility, Performance, Scalability, and Integration testing to ensure our products deliver a seamless experience for all users under real-world conditions.

You will collaborate with the Principal QA Engineer to align with broader QA strategies and contribute to improving testing practices, tools, and frameworks. Your work will help ensure smooth, reliable, and secure user experiences, while supporting the team’s agile delivery goals.
