Recruitment Manager

We are a Polish branch of a fast-growing InsurTech product company from Silicon Valley – Hippo Insurance. Our mission is to revolutionize home insurance in the US, starting from IoT monitoring devices to our industry-leading software.

How do we want to get there? We need a top-notch talent, just like you!

Putting a lot of effort into hiring top-tier devs, designers, PMs, BAs, and QAs, is a proof that we care a lot about tech experience, the attitude, human approach, and what we could call „culture fit”.

„SwingDev is all about people” - yes, it may sound a bit cliche. But whether we're writing code or just hanging out, we know that people are at the heart of everything we do. We like to have a good time and keep things light, even when we're tackling big projects. We could brag about what’s making us special, but we’ve boiled it down to two key ingredients: mature, companionable people who, rather than compete, prefer to inspire and have each other’s backs; a culture of trust, empathy, and positivity that keeps us together, lets us interact as teammates and friends, and truly enjoy the ride.

Are we a good match?

As Recruitment Team, we take care of the entire end-to-end recruitment process (i.e., briefs with Hiring Managers, reaching out to candidates, writing advertisements, conducting recruitment interviews, or providing feedback) and do our best to ensure a good candidate experience. As we work on a global scale, you’d be cooperating daily with Hiring Managers from Poland and the United States. This is why we are looking for candidates with at least 6 years of experience in IT recruitment, preferably in an international environment, with very good English skills.

Since this is a Recruitment Manager role, we’re looking for someone who’s spent at least 2 years leading others. Whether it’s been one person or a whole team, what matters most is your ability to support individual growth, help the team thrive, and keep things moving forward. Right now, our team is two fantastic people, and we’re looking for a leader who can guide the team, tackle projects to improve the work and processes, and find new ways to make recruitment even better—because there’s always something to build on. Of course, while your main focus will be leadership and projects, we’d love for you to jump into hands-on recruitment from time to time, like hiring for higher-level roles or stepping in when things get busy.

No matter on a position, it's always important for us to find someone who can look for answers on their own, propose ideas, and look for improvements and changes rather than always follow the same old patterns. Moreover, it is to see your true pleasure and fun in what you're doing!

SwingDev—a hippo company is a great place to initiate and implement your ideas, so we're looking for people who are proactive and have a strong sense of passion and initiative. We support those who want to do new things and make them happen. Sounds like you? Apply!

Why is it worth your time?

• We work as a team and as partners, so the recruitment process considers not only what we are looking for but also what is best for you.

• You'll lead a small (2-3 people), but hands-on and open-minded team of Recruitment Partners.

• You will be helping the team in looking for the best specialists on the Polish market for the Silicon Valley scale-up, with offices in PL and USA and conduct some recruitment processes yourself.

• We place great importance on fitting in with the organization – which makes your work very significant for the company.

• You can always count on respectful, mature, and companionable tech people to support you with the knowledge you need during the recruitment processes.

• You will have regular 1:1s with your manager (Director of People&Culture) and an individualized approach to your growth.

• You will experience a friendly work environment and be given the tools you need to make your job more effective.

• You will be given freedom and flexibility, as we believe those are our best tools for making your job fit your life. You can do both— work remotely, or drop by our loft-style office in the center of Warsaw.

• We care, cherish people’s skills, and reward them fairly – check out our perks and benefits below.

We are looking for someone, who...

• Has 3+ years of experience in leading a team.

• Has 6+ years of experience in recruitment in the IT industry (experience in product companies is an asset) and wants to develop further in this area.

• Has more of a startup vibe approach than corporate, likes good jokes, focuses on smart&sensible solutions, enjoys a changing environment and not a formal approach.

• Can communicate easily with different stakeholders and is capable of asking the right questions to extract key insights.

• Is comfortable working with ATS and HRIS - hands-on experience with tools such as Lever, Personio, or similar platforms is a strong asset.

• Has a proven track record of hands-on headhunting and direct sourcing for senior-level roles, with the ability to identify and engage passive candidates effectively.

• Actively engages in operational recruitment activities - is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved in day-to-day hiring processes alongside the team.

• Brings a data-driven mindset to recruitment - tracks and analyzes key hiring metrics (e.g. time-to-hire, pipeline conversion, source effectiveness), uses data to drive decisions, and looks for opportunities to introduce automation and process improvements that increase team efficiency.

• Can organize and prioritize their own work and the work of a team, come up with their own initiatives, notice improvements to implement and think about finding solutions, not creating problems.

• Smoothly uses Polish (C2) and English (at least B2/C1) — we are part of the American scale-up, therefore fluent English is a must-have.

• Is available full-time and is able to show up in our Warsaw office from time to time and occasionally work in the evenings (+- 2 days a week).

Since we want you to share similar approach to recruitment as we do, the below list of what we're looking for when hiring Recruiters, we'd like to apply to you as well:

• Prefers engaging with new people over "questioning" and is skilled in conducting partner recruitment interviews using behavioral techniques.

• Has a gut feeling, but can also back it up with the fact that a specific person will fit us perfectly.

• Actively looks for candidates from various sources. Feels good about sourcing, knows what Boolean search and X-Ray search are without googling it!

• Speaking of languages, you should know them well enough to be aware that Java and JavaScript are not the same. ;)

• Record One-Way Interview via SparkHire.

• Talk with Alicja, VP, People and Aleksandra, Recruitment Lead.

• Have a conversation with Marcin, VP of Engineering and one of the SwingDev Founders.

• Meet on the final stage with the Recruitment Partners: Ola and Gabi.

• and... welcome aboard!
