Robotics Software Engineer - Autonomy Systems

About Us

YYForce is building intelligent humanoid and service robots that can work safely and effectively alongside people. We are developing practical robotic capabilities for real-world deployment, with an initial focus on hospitality environments.

Our goal is to create a scalable robotics platform that brings together perception, manipulation, navigation, interaction and task execution—enabling robots to perform useful work reliably across different applications and environment.

About the Role

We are looking for a Robotics Software Engineer, Autonomy Systems to develop the software foundation that connects our robot’s hardware, intelligence and application capabilities.

You will integrate robotics modules into a reliable system, define interfaces between components and build the tools needed to deploy, monitor and improve robots in the field. You will also explore how agentic planning and natural-language interaction can enable robots to understand requests and coordinate high-level tasks.

This is a hands-on role with strong ownership of system architecture, integration quality and robot reliability.

Key Responsibilities

· Design and maintain the software architecture connecting perception, manipulation, navigation, interaction and task execution.

· Develop reusable interfaces, services and hardware abstraction layers across different robot platforms.

· Integrate sensors, actuators, robot SDKs and third-party software into the robotics stack.

· Build task orchestration, state management, error handling and recovery mechanisms.

· Explore agentic task planning for high-level robot orchestration.

· Build tools for configuration ,logging, monitoring, diagnostics and remote support.

· Improve system performance ,reliability and maintainability through testing on physical robots.

· Support robot deployment and troubleshoot issues across hardware and software boundaries.

· Work closely with manipulation, perception, navigation and embodied AI engineers.

Minimum Requirements

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field.

· Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python.

· Experience developing or integrating software for robotic or embedded systems.

· Experience with ROS or ROS 2and distributed software systems.

· Understanding of software architecture, APIs, concurrency and inter-process communication.

· Ability to diagnose complex system-level issues involving both hardware and software.

· Comfortable working hands-on with physical robots.

Strongly Preferred

· Experience integrating multiple robotics capabilities into a production or deployment-ready system.

· Experience with behavior trees, state machines, task planners or workflow orchestration.

· Experience integrating LLM- or VLM-based agents, tool calling or semantic task planning with deterministic robot-execution frameworks.

· Familiarity with Docker, Linux, CI/CD and software deployment on edge devices.

· Experience with telemetry, observability, fleet management or remote robot operations.

· Experience supporting robots in real-world customer environments.

What We Offer

· Ownership of the core software platform behind the humanoid robots

· The opportunity to shape the system architecture from an early stage.

· Hands-on access to humanoid robots, sensors, AI models and deployment environments.

· The freedom to turn emerging technologies—including embodied and agentic AI—into practical robotic capabilities.

· Direct involvement in taking robots from prototype to real hospitality operations.

· A high-impact role in a growing robotics team, with room to expand into technical leadership as the platform and team scale.
