Full description
Get paid $25 an hour, W2 with full benefits, to sit behind the wheel of a self-driving test car on Dallas roads. No CDL, no autonomous vehicle experience, and a real recruiter on the phone within one business day.
Company
A leading autonomous driving company running self-driving cars on real Texas roads, including live passenger rides. Dallas is one of its priority cities and the team is growing. Pave Talent recruits for the program; drivers are W2 employees of the program's employer of record with full benefits from day one.
Who thrives here
- Delivery and route drivers: Amazon DSP, FedEx, UPS, medical courier, box truck, food and beverage routes
- School bus, transit, paratransit, and shuttle drivers
- CDL drivers who want to be home every night and off the road
- Current or former autonomous vehicle or robotaxi operators
- Security, armored transport, and transitioning military
- Reliable shift workers from warehouses, production floors, and restaurants with a long, clean personal driving record who want a seat with benefits
- Rideshare and delivery-app drivers who already drive with both hands on the wheel, full stops, and the phone put away
This is a driving job, not a tech or engineering job. Drivers who roll stops, drive one-handed, speed, or drive with a phone in hand do not pass the road test.
The opportunity
Full-time Safety Driver on the Dallas operations team, reporting to the site operations leads. Ongoing headcount (multiple open seats), 12-month contract that keeps extending for drivers who show up and drive by the book. One fixed shift you pick and keep, paid every Friday.
What you will own
- Run the pre-shift safety check and get the car ready
- Drive the vehicle in autonomous mode on real Dallas streets, monitor what it does, and take over the moment it needs you
- Follow the intervention protocol exactly, on every drive
- Note road events and give the engineers clear feedback that makes the system better
- Handle basic in-car troubleshooting and software updates using everyday tools (GPS, Slack or Teams style messaging)
