Sales Development Associate

Job title: Sales Development Intern
Type: Internship, part-time, 10-20 hours per week, 3-6 months
Location: Remote, worldwide
Compensation: Commission-based. You earn commission on every deal you help close, with a defined path to a paid contract or full-time role after a 3-month performance review. Academic credit supported where a school allows it.

About the company: Melora Connect is association management software built for small associations and chambers of commerce - organizations under 500 members who have been priced out of or buried by the enterprise platforms. The product is built. We are a small team putting it in front of its first customers, which means everyone here works on things that matter immediately rather than on practice projects.

Why this role exists: Most sales internships hand you a phone and a cold list and measure how long you last. We have an existing contact database in the association and chamber world and a network already built in this space. Your job is not to find people who have never heard of us - it is to work a warm list intelligently, figure out which organizations actually have the problem we solve, and get the right ones onto a call. You would report to our sales lead, who spent years in the association management software industry before this.

What you will do:

• Research and segment the list: which organizations are the right size, on the wrong platform, or showing signs they are about to switch - a new executive director, a website rebuild, a membership push.
• Write outreach that gets answered: personalized, short, specific to the organization.
• Book discovery calls for our sales lead and sit in on them.
• Keep HubSpot honest: clean records, logged activity, accurate stages.
• Gather competitive intel: what people pay elsewhere, what makes them leave, what makes them stay.

Who we are looking for: You can take a no without it landing personally. You write short - the best outreach email is four sentences. You are organized, because follow-up is where the results live. You are curious about people's businesses. No sales experience needed. Fundraising, canvassing, recruiting, or service work where you had to read people quickly all transfer. Students, recent graduates, and career changers are encouraged. Applicants worldwide welcome.

What you get: mentorship from someone who has sold in this exact category, real pipeline experience with a warm list, hands-on HubSpot, structured training through our Melora Institute curriculum, a substantive written reference, and a number you can point to in your next interview.
