Sales Manager Germany

About Ambio

Ambio is an AI-driven physical commodity trader on a mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable materials. This mission is progressing fast in our primary domain, recycled plastics.

We work closely with 100+ industrial manufacturers in the Nordics and DACH region through the full procurement cycle, making sustainable material options the obvious choice, not the hard one. Our agentic trading technology and the widest material selection in Europe got us here. We are building a world where recycled materials are the default, and Ambio is the market that makes them flow.

We’re a diverse team of traders, operators, polymer engineers, and software devs across Helsinki, Berlin, and Stockholm, with funding from e.g. Speedinvest and Lifeline.

Position

Drive Ambio’s commercial growth in Germany. You’ll turn qualified leads into long-term customers, manage every stage from first call to signed deal, and use what you learn from the market to shape how we sell. This is a hands-on role with real responsibility for building our presence in Germany.

You'll be selling recycled polymers to plastic converters: a market where price moves weekly, specs matter, and trust is built over the phone and site visits rather than over email. No prior plastics experience needed, but you should be someone who enjoys getting deep into a technical product.

Tasks

What you'll do:

• Turn leads into wins: Convert a steady flow of provided leads into long-term, repeat customers.

• Seal the deal: Present tailored material solutions, build customized offers, and negotiate terms to close.

• Learn the material: Get fluent in polymer grades, specs, and quality trade-offs so you can advise buyers rather than just quote them.

• Shape the strategy: Expand our German pipeline, identify untapped segments, and use insights from customer conversations to sharpen how we sell.

Requirements

Signs you'd be a great fit:

• Sales experience: You have some B2B sales experience, but your potential and motivation to grow matter more than the length of your CV. Startup experience and being comfortable explaining complex or technical products is a plus.

• Outbound: You’re comfortable picking up the phone, creating opportunities, and following up until there’s a clear answer.

• Commercial instinct: You're comfortable negotiating on price and volume, and you can hold a margin without losing the relationship.

• Languages: Fluent German and English. Polish, Italian, or Spanish is a plus.

• Ownership: You take responsibility for results and can run your own pipeline without being managed into it.

What we offer:

• A high-agency & values-driven culture – Join a team that runs towards problems, is serious about the work and relaxed about everything else, and pairs high ambition with zero-ego. We focus on solving real customer problems exceptionally well, accelerating the transition to sustainable materials happens as a by-product.

• A market being built right now – Every major commodity had its moment when someone built the market it trades on. For recycled plastics, that moment is now, and we are the ones to build it.

• Feedback & mentorship that moves you forward – You work closely with the whole team, receiving frequent, direct feedback and practical mentorship that helps you grow.
