Science Laboratory Assistant-Jurong West

Working Hours:

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
• Fridays: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
• No weekends or gazetted Public Holidays required (unless explicitly needed during special periods).

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain General Cleanliness: Perform routine cleaning, washing, and sanitizing of work surfaces, sinks, and floor spaces across assigned science laboratories.
• Apparatus & Equipment Maintenance: Wash, dry, organize, and neatly store used scientific laboratory apparatus, glassware, and equipment after lessons.
• Logistical Support: Assist science teachers by preparing necessary materials, logistics, and cleaning setups before and after practical classroom lessons.
• Inventory & Stock Management: Regularly check, count, and help top up lab consumables, first-aid boxes, and essential school supplies to ensure they are well-stocked.
• Co-worker Coordination: Cooperate and coordinate with fellow colleagues on the safety and general upkeep of school lab machinery and equipment.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Qualification: GCE ‘N’ Level certificate or an equivalent qualification.
• Language Proficiency: Good command of spoken and written English.
• Prior Experience: Previous experience cleaning or maintaining workspaces is required; experience within a school or science laboratory environment is highly preferred.
• Core Competencies: Ability to carefully follow instructions, work reliably under supervision, and perform both independently and collaboratively as a team.
• Skills: Strong basic organizational capabilities and professional time-management skills.
• Traits: High level of personal accountability, caution with sensitive glassware/chemicals, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Flexibility: Willingness to accommodate minor adjustments in working hours during peak mid-year/end-of-year school examination periods.
