ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
This role will attract better candidates if the advert separates the core purpose from the long compliance list, so I’ve shaped it to feel clearer and more candidate-friendly while keeping the key SIA, CCTV, patrol, audit, and safety requirements.
Security Officer
We are looking for a professional and customer-focused Security Officer to support the safe and smooth operation of a busy shopping centre environment. This role combines visible security presence, customer service, control room responsibilities, contractor management, and health and safety compliance to help maintain a safe and welcoming site for visitors, occupiers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a visible security presence across the shopping street and back-of-house areas
- Carry out regular internal and external patrols as directed by Centre Management
- Monitor access points, doors, and surrounding areas for any signs of unauthorised entry
- Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, fire activations, and customer concerns
- Monitor CCTV and work within the site control room, including managing alarms, visitor logs, lost property, and telephone enquiries
- Ensure all incidents are recorded accurately and detailed incident reports are completed in a timely manner
- Support contractor and delivery management, ensuring site procedures and safe working practices are followed
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly audits, paperwork, KPI updates, checklists, and keyholder records
- Carry out landlord life safety checks and other site compliance tasks following training
- Report maintenance, operational, or safety concerns to the Security or Centre Manager
- Ensure all site rules, fire regulations, health and safety procedures, and company policies are followed at all times
- Provide excellent customer service and assist with public enquiries when required
If you’re looking for a role where you can combine security, customer service, and site support in a fast-paced environment, this could be a great fit.
