Job Title: Senior Associate, Systems / Guidance, Navigation and Control EngineerJob Code: 46611Job Location: Orlando, FloridaJob Schedule: 9/80 work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off Job Description: L3Harris Technologies is seeking an early career Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer to join our Orlando, Florida team supporting missile programs and expanding all-up-round integration activities. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will apply foundational engineering principles to vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, propulsion, classical/modern flight controls, tactical/strategic missile guidance, estimation theory, modeling and simulation, and system verification. This position offers opportunities to develop practical engineering skills through analysis, software development, integration, and evaluation of test data.

Essential Functions:

• Perform Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) design and analysis for tactical and strategic missile systems.
• Conduct trajectory shaping and tuning of tactical and strategic missile guidance and autopilot parameters to meet stringent customer requirements.
• Generate, modify, and utilize models and simulations of aerospace vehicles using first principles.
• Implement algorithms and modify simulations in C/C++ coding environment following strict Software Configuration Management (SCM) processes.
• Generate, modify, and utilize high-fidelity models and simulations of components and subsystems utilizing MATLAB/Simulink for tuning and requirements verification.
• Analyze real-time and post-test telemetry data in support of System level verification and mission activities.
• Investigate unexpected results by examining underlying physics, modeling assumptions, software implementation, and data quality.
• Collaborate with engineers across aerodynamics, propulsion, electrical, mechanical, software, and test to support vehicle integration and resolve interface issues.
• Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering, or other related technical field, and a minimum of 2 years of prior related engineering experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Missile or Launch Vehicle navigation and guidance experience/coursework
• Ability to work under Windows and Linux environments
• Working with Systems Engineering disciplines and related activities (e.g., requirements traceability & verification)
• Academic, research, internship, or professional experience applying vehicle dynamics, control theory, navigation, or estimation principles.
• Experience using MATLAB and Simulink for engineering analysis, modeling, or algorithm development.
• Programming experience in C, C++, Fortran, or Python.
• Coursework or project experience involving aerodynamics, propulsion, structural dynamics, or interactions between physical subsystems.
• Familiarity with systems engineering activities, including requirements development, traceability, and verification.
• Familiarity with version control and software development in Windows or Linux environments.
