Senior Backend Engineer - Checkout (all genders)
Location: Hamburg, HH, de
Company Description
SCAYLE is one of the fastest-growing enterprise commerce platforms in the world, enabling brands and retailers to realize their D2C ambitions. SCAYLE stands for innovation, international collaboration, and a strong focus on data. We believe that stepping outside of our comfort zone and making bold decisions is key to growing both professionally and personally. Instead of seeing problems as obstacles, we approach them as opportunities to find better solutions. We work in an environment that encourages flexibility, creativity, and continuous development. What drives us is the shared motivation to make an impact and actively shape the future of eCommerce.
Job Description
- Help envision and work hand-in-hand with other colleagues to develop a scalable software architecture for our API written in PHP
- Work directly with product managers and engineers to translate complex business requirements into clean, idiomatic Go implementations, ensuring features are well-designed and delivered on time
- Champion modern engineering practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD), pair programming, and automated CI/CD pipelines to keep code quality and team velocity high
- Choose technology pragmatically by matching the right tools to the specific problem, maximizing Go’s concurrency and performance without being rigid or dogmatic
- Take direct ownership of technical initiatives in a flat engineering culture where your ideas are valued and decision-making paths are exceptionally short
- Mentor fellow developers through code reviews and collaborative sessions, elevating team standards while continuously exploring modern tooling like AI coding assistants
