Salary: $120,000 – $137,500 per year + benefits
Be part of a collaborative, supportive project community delivering a transformative Business Process Re-design initiative for a valued public sector organisation.
While modernising technical systems is part of our shared vision, this role centres deeply on human-centred service design, thoughtful business process improvement, and guiding people through meaningful, positive change.
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst who brings genuine empathy, skilled facilitation, and an inclusive mindset—someone who naturally listens, builds trust, and brings teams along on the journey.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Collaborative Process Design: Facilitate end-to-end current and future-state process mapping, exploring thoughtful options and understanding how changes genuinely impact day-to-day operations.
- Human-Centred Service Design: Apply service design principles to weave complex legislation, policies, and regulatory guidance into clear, intuitive operational workflows.
- Inclusive Facilitation: Create welcoming, productive workshop environments that invite diverse perspectives and bring cross-functional teams into shared alignment.
- Bridging People & Technology: Connect user-centred process design with underlying system capabilities, ensuring tools genuinely support the people using them.
- Empathetic Change Leadership: Partner closely with teams navigating transition, creating a safe, transparent space where colleagues feel heard, supported, and valued.
What You Bring to the Team
- Substantial BA Expertise: A rich background in business analysis, with dedicated focus on process redesign, workflow refinement, and continuous improvement.
- Navigating Governed Environments: Comfort and experience working within public sector, regulatory, or policy-driven environments.
- Translating Policy into Practice: An ability to make sense of complex statutory rules and reshape them into accessible, practical guidance for operational teams.
- Warm, Empathetic Communication: Exceptional relational skills with a natural ability to foster rapport, listen actively, and guide diverse groups through change.
- Core Toolkit: Well-practised skills in process visualisation (Visio or similar), business change impact analysis, and collaborative discovery workshops.
Valued, but not essential:
- Prior experience within New Zealand public sector or regulatory agencies.
- Exposure to Service Design, Lean, or continuous improvement frameworks.
- Familiarity with business rules analysis and decision modelling.
(Please note: You must hold a valid New Zealand work visa, Permanent Residency, or Citizenship to be considered for this role.)
