Your new job | About your main responsibilities
If you have a strong engineering background and want to work directly with clients at the intersection of Finance, Data and Agentic AI, this role is a perfect fit. EY’s Finance Consulting practice is looking for a Senior Consultant: Forward Deployed Engineer.
As organizations move toward more intelligent and autonomous ways of working, disconnected systems, fragmented data and limited engineering capacity can prevent them from turning ideas into reliable solutions. Strong data foundations, well-designed integrations and disciplined software delivery are essential for making analytics and AI part of everyday business operations.
In this hands-on role, you will work directly with client teams to understand their operations, connect enterprise systems and data, and build solutions that support business decisions and approved workflows. The CFO organization is our initial anchor, covering planning, performance management, financial control, reporting and Treasury, with opportunities extending into Risk and wider business functions. You will take defined problems from discovery through architecture, development, testing, production deployment and operational adoption. Your remit covers both the foundations that make AI reliable and the applications and agents that put those foundations to work.
What you will do
Understand the business and define the solution
- Work directly with business users, domain experts and technology teams to understand processes, decisions, controls and operational challenges.
- Investigate existing systems and data to establish what is happening and where intervention will create value.
- Translate business needs into solution designs, data requirements, acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes.
- Use short development cycles and user feedback to validate assumptions and improve the solution.
