The Senior Design Engineer plays a critical role in advancing Divcon’s building automation capabilities through technical leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and development of scalable, energy‑efficient system designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of BMS and EPMS systems, including schematics, riser/network diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring details.
- Translate mechanical and electrical plans/specifications into complete automation control designs.
- Develop sequences of operation, control narratives, and logic diagrams for advanced mechanical systems.
- Produce and review control submittals, bills of material (BOMs), and device specifications.
- Engineer system architectures involving BACnet, Modbus, and IP‑based networks, including integration of HVAC, lighting, and metering systems.
- Design custom control panels and support shop verification or FAT/SAT testing.
- Apply NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, UL, and related codes across all design deliverables.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of drawings, submittals, and as‑built documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and system startup activities in collaboration with software and installation teams.
- Troubleshoot control, electrical, and network-related issues during project execution.
- Evaluate new control hardware, sensors, and energy‑efficiency strategies for potential implementation.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, commissioning, and IT teams to ensure system compatibility, cybersecurity, and reliability.
- Provide timely design clarifications and technical support to maintain project schedules.
- Contribute to internal standards development, including templates, CAD standards, and design workflows.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and intermediate designers.
- Support internal initiatives that advance team skills, design consistency, and engineering best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of HVAC system operation, sequences, and DDC integration.
