Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview

In this role you will support a National Security client as a DevOps Engineer, focusing on automated, secure deployment pipelines. You work onsite in Cheltenham and must hold active UKIC DV or eDV clearance. You’ll implement and maintain CI/CD practices, handle Linux administration, and manage infrastructure as code. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable cloud-based solutions. This position offers the chance to contribute to critical security projects and work with a modern toolkit to drive resilient operations.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Administer Linux systems and troubleshoot issues
• Develop and manage infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes to containerize and orchestrate applications
• Operate across cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and related CI/CD tooling
• Scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to streamline processes
• Support enterprise environments and assist stakeholders (technical and non-technical)
• Apply security best practices and secure-by-design principles

Key requirements

• Active UKIC DV or eDV clearance
• Full-time onsite in Cheltenham
• Strong DevOps and CI/CD experience
• Linux administration and troubleshooting
• IaC with Terraform or Ansible
• Docker and Kubernetes experience
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Routing, Switching, VLANs)
• Security best practices and strong problem-solving skills
