About the Job:
The Senior Director, Revenue Cycle Management leads enterprise revenue-cycle strategy, operations, technology, and performance across Foundation Medicine’s precision oncology portfolio. Working across Finance, Reimbursement, Product, Commercial, Operations, Technology, Customer Service, and the Patient Access Team, this leader improves reimbursement, reduces billing friction, strengthens revenue integrity, and builds scalable capabilities that adapt to changing payer, customer, and portfolio needs.
Mandate
- Own the RCM strategy, operating model, performance system, technology roadmap, and partner ecosystem from claim readiness through account resolution, with upstream handoffs managed in collaboration with the Patient Access Team.
- Move RCM from reactive claims work to proactive revenue integrity and denial prevention through payer intelligence, workflow redesign, automation, analytics, and responsible AI.
- Translate portfolio, coverage, contracting, regulatory, and payer changes into operational readiness and measurable financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy, operating model, and performance
- Set the multi-year RCM strategy, operating model, governance, capacity, service levels, budget, and investment priorities
- Maintain expert knowledge of the U.S. reimbursement landscape, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers, managed care, evolving payment models, and diagnostics reimbursement pathways
- Establish actionable performance visibility, operating cadences, root-cause management, and accountability across products, payers, channels, denials, aging, and workflows
- Revenue integrity and payer enablement
- Improve claim-input quality, documentation, adherence to approved coding standards, medical-necessity alignment, and claim defensibility
- This role identifies coding issues and provides insights but does not own coding strategy or policy
- Use claim, denial, appeal, payment, and payer-policy data to remove systemic barriers and inform reimbursement, contracting, evidence, commercial, and product decisions
- Ensure launch and change readiness, partnering with the Patient Access Team when upstream access, coverage, authorization, or financial-assistance processes are affected
- Technology, automation, and experience
- Own the RCM technology and data roadmap; simplify and standardize work before applying automation and responsible AI
- Prioritize digital solutions that measurably improve claim quality, routing, follow-up, appeals, reconciliation, and billing communications, with appropriate oversight, privacy, security, and auditability
