Full description
DeltaQuad develops advanced VTOL UAV systems for defence, public safety and commercial operators worldwide. Our multidisciplinary R&D team develops reliable products that operate in some of the world's most demanding environments.
As our products and engineering organization continue to evolve, we're looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with a hands-on mentality. Someone who can move quickly from concept to prototype, knows what it takes to bring electronics into reliable series production, and enjoys helping other engineers grow.
The role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll take ownership of the architecture, development and integration of electronic hardware across our UAV platforms.
You'll work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Embedded Software, Systems Engineering, Quality and Production to translate product requirements into robust, manufacturable electronic designs.
We are looking for someone who can move comfortably between architecture, hands-on engineering and technical leadership. One day you might be debugging a prototype or reviewing a PCB design; the next, you'll be guiding an external development partner or helping a junior engineer solve a complex technical problem.
Rapid prototyping is an important part of how we work. You should be comfortable making pragmatic engineering decisions, building and testing quickly, learning from failures and iterating towards a reliable production-ready solution.
This is also not purely an individual contributor role. As one of the senior engineers in the team, you'll play an important part in further developing our electrical engineering capability and supporting the growth of junior and medior engineers.
Your responsibilities
- Design and develop complex electronic hardware for our UAV systems.
- Define electronic architectures from initial concept through industrialization and production.
- Design, review and troubleshoot analogue and digital electronics, power electronics and communication interfaces.
- Take ownership of PCB architecture, schematic design and PCB development.
- Rapidly develop and validate prototypes to prove technical concepts and reduce development risk.
- Work closely with Embedded Software Engineers on hardware/software integration.
- Support RF design and integration, including antenna and communication-system considerations.
- Apply EMC/EMI principles throughout the development process.
- Perform hands-on testing, debugging, validation and root-cause analysis.
