Senior IT Engineer

Senior IT Engineer (Support & Projects) - MSPColchester / Braintree Area | Office-Based | Driving Licence EssentialUp to £35,000 DoE + Benefits

A well-established and growing MSP in North Essex is looking for an experienced, customer-focused Senior IT Engineer to join their Support & Projects team. This is a varied, hands-on role split between 2nd/3rd line support and project delivery, with a pipeline of 15 Intune migrations already lined up and ready to go. It's a great opportunity for someone who wants to own projects from scoping through to handover, not just assist on them.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Deliver 2nd/3rd line support to customers via phone, email and portal, with a strong focus on first-touch resolution.
• Own projects end to end, including Intune migrations, Microsoft 365 tenant migrations and customer onboarding.
• Carry out server migrations (server to server and server to cloud), infrastructure upgrades and firewall configuration.
• Deploy and manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Azure environments alongside traditional on-premise servers and networking.
• Share knowledge with the wider team and assist with escalated issues, while maintaining accurate time recording and documentation.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven experience in a senior support or engineering role within an MSP, supporting multiple customer environments.
• Experience independently delivering technical projects from requirements and planning through to testing and handover.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and Hyper-V, plus solid Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Azure experience.
• Good networking knowledge (firewalls, VPNs, VLANs), with image-based backup/DR and Autotask/Datto experience a bonus.
• A calm, customer-first approach with excellent communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle essential.
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA etc) are a plus.

What's on Offer:

• Salary up to £35,000 (depending on experience)
• 22 days holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off
• A varied role combining support and project delivery
• A busy pipeline of Intune and Microsoft 365 projects
• A supportive, customer-centric team within a respected MSP
