Experience Required: 5–10 Years
Primary Specialization: Native Android and iOS Application Performance Engineering
Required Experience and Qualifications
- 5–10 years of overall experience in performance testing and performance engineering.
- Demonstrated hands-on performance testing experience with installed native Android and iOS applications, beyond mobile browser or mobile web testing.
- Advanced technical proficiency with Apache JMeter and BlazeMeter.
- Practical experience using BrowserStack for native mobile application testing on real devices.
- Hands-on experience developing Appium or equivalent native mobile automation scripts.
- Experience integrating protocol-level load testing with native application performance validation on physical devices.
- Ability to independently design, implement, and execute enterprise mobile performance testing solutions.
- Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, latency, throughput, concurrency, caching, asynchronous processing, and scalability.
- Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Traditional desktop or mobile web application performance testing, as a secondary skill.
- Experience with Tricentis NeoLoad or other commercial performance testing platforms.
- Android Studio Profiler, Apple Instruments, or equivalent native mobile profiling tools.
- Experience with Android/iOS application logs, crash diagnostics, and profiling.
- Experience with mobile network conditioning and network emulation.
- AWS or other enterprise cloud platforms.
- Service virtualization, production log analysis, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with Android Kotlin/Java or iOS Swift/Objective-C development for performance diagnostics.
Web performance testing is a nice-to-have capability and must not substitute for native Android/iOS application performance engineering experience.Expected Outcomes
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Establish a repeatable and scalable native Android/iOS performance testing capability.
- Deliver reusable JMeter/BlazeMeter load-testing assets and BrowserStack native application automation scenarios.
- Enable coordinated backend load testing and real-device native application performance validation.
- Define meaningful native mobile performance benchmarks and acceptance criteria.
