About the job
Want to work for the best network security engineering team in the country? This is the kind of role that doesn't come around often.
About the Company & Culture:
We're partnering with one of Australia's leading cyber security consultancies. They're not a reseller chasing product quotas, they're a team of genuine technologists who get their hands dirty, know their tech inside out, and deliver real outcomes for clients.
The culture is technically deep, low-ego, and high-trust. Autonomy is the norm, seniority is earned through capability rather than tenure, and the team is proud of a reputation built on substance, not sales pitches.
The Role:
We're hiring a Senior Network Security Engineer to join a high-performing, Canberra-based secure networks team. You'll work across LAN, WiFi, WAN, SASE, SD-WAN, NGFW, and datacentre technologies, owning solutions end-to-end, from high-level design through to low-level design, implementation, and handover.
Location: Canberra - flexible hybrid working arrangements, with a preference on client site.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the full delivery lifecycle: HLD, LLD, implementation, and handover, across complex network security solutions.
- Work hands-on across LAN, WAN, SASE, SD-WAN, NGFW, and datacentre environments.
- Partner with leading vendor technologies including Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Aruba, and Cloudflare.
- Provide expert technical guidance to clients, translating business requirements into robust, practical solutions.
- Operate as an independent contributor on complex projects, while contributing to the team's broader technical knowledge base.
Experience Needed:
- 5+ years of hands-on, senior-level networking experience.
- Integrator background strongly preferred - you've delivered across multiple clients and environments, not sat static in a single long-term customer contract.
- Federal market experience.
- NV1 clearance preferred (or baseline considered).
- Strong in at least 1-2 of the core vendor technologies (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Aruba, Cloudflare).
Why Join?
- Career progression opportunities: a clear path to progress into a Principal role.
- Training and certification bonuses.
- Culture Awards recognising genuine excellence!
- A vibrant, social, tight-knit Canberra office community.
- Genuine WFH flexibility - the priority is time on client site, not desk-watching.
- Attractive Salary Package: up to $200k + Super, plus bonus potential.
