FARO INSIGHT Exists to Turn Reality into Understanding.
We believe the world is shaped by decisions and those decisions only hold up when they’re grounded in objective truth. Our solutions capture buildings, sites and scenes exactly as they are and transform that data into insight teams can use to plan, verify, investigate and act with confidence.
Across Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AECO), Geospatial and Public Safety, we support professionals who establish truth, verify progress, investigate events and protect people & places. From surveyors defining the foundations of a project, to architects and builders coordinating complex infrastructure, to public safety professionals documenting critical incidents to deliver justice to communities. Our solutions underpin accountability and inspire trust in every decision.
At FARO INSIGHT, we admire individuals who wish to shape the future with us. Who believe leadership starts with responsibility. Who believe great innovation serves real-world outcomes. And who believe in long-term impact, over short-term noise. Here, you will be part of a team that puts those beliefs into action, creating work that makes a meaningful difference.
Insight You Can Build On.
The Platform Engineer is responsible for evolving our Azure cloud platform to support significant scale, enabling application teams and AI coding agents to deliver infrastructure rapidly, safely, and cost-effectively.
We are seeking your support as a Senior Platform Engineer (m/f/d) in Germany, Korntal-Münchingen.
Core Responsibilities:
Architecture & Scale:
- Architect for elasticity, multi-region resilience, and predictable performance.
- Lead capacity planning and FinOps to ensure efficient scaling.
- Treat the platform as a product, providing self-service "golden paths" that minimize developer friction.
Reliability & Observability:
- Own the platform's reliability strategy by defining SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
- Implement end-to-end observability (OpenTelemetry, Elasticsearch) and symptom-based alerting to eliminate noise.
- Drive operational excellence through chaos engineering, disaster recovery planning, and incident command.
CI/CD & Build Infrastructure:
- Own the deployment platform (GitOps, progressive delivery) and architect a secure, auto-scaling fleet of ephemeral build agents. This shared-responsibility model optimizes compute costs and removes pipeline bottlenecks while giving R&D teams full autonomy over their containerized build environments.
AI Integration & Governance:
