Senior QA Engineer (Web)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior QA Engineer (Web) based remotely in Brazil.

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of modern web applications throughout the development lifecycle. In this role, you will combine manual testing and test automation, with an approximately equal split between the two. You will take ownership of quality assurance activities from reviewing technical specifications to validating production releases. Working closely with Product Managers, Front-End and Back-End Engineers, and Architects, you will help deliver seamless user experiences across browsers and devices. You will contribute to improving test coverage, reducing escaped defects, and strengthening the overall testing process. This remote opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented QA professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working autonomously, and contributing to internationally distributed product teams.

Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for driving end-to-end quality assurance, combining hands-on manual testing with the development and maintenance of automated test suites. Your main responsibilities will include:

-
Lead quality assurance for business features from technical hand-off through successful production release.

-
Review product specifications, prepare test plans, and develop comprehensive test cases and checklists before stabilization begins.

-
Estimate testing efforts accurately, prioritize tasks effectively, and consistently meet agreed deadlines.

-
Perform functional, exploratory, regression, UI/UX, cross-browser, responsive, end-to-end, and API testing.

-
Write, maintain, and improve automated tests using Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript within the existing automation framework.

-
Balance manual and automated testing responsibilities, dedicating approximately 50% of your time to each.

-
Document test activities thoroughly and participate in peer reviews, including reviewing test code and responding to feedback on your own work.

-
Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Front-End and Back-End Engineers, and Architects throughout the development cycle.

-
Support production releases by validating builds, performing smoke and regression tests, and monitoring live errors and application performance.

-
Track and improve QA performance indicators, including escaped defect rates and test coverage, to strengthen product quality over time.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in software quality assurance, practical web testing experience, and the ability to independently develop reliable automated tests. You should be comfortable collaborating across technical teams, communicating clearly, and managing competing priorities. The key qualifications include:

-
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test design techniques, and end-to-end testing processes.

-
Solid understanding of web technologies and client-server architecture, including HTTP/HTTPS, REST, the Document Object Model (DOM), cookies, caching, and local storage.

-
Experience with cross-browser and responsive testing across Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, and mobile viewports.

-
Proficiency with browser DevTools and debugging proxies such as Proxyman, Charles, Fiddler, or similar tools.

-
Hands-on API testing experience using tools such as Postman, including REST and GraphQL APIs and test data management.

-
Practical experience with Jira, Git, and Allure TestOps or comparable test management platforms.

-
Hands-on automation experience with Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript, including independently writing, maintaining, and debugging automated tests rather than only reviewing or executing existing ones.

-
Experience with products involving feeds, chats, subscriptions, dating, streaming, or other media and social interaction features is an advantage.

-
Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and the ability to prioritize tasks and resolve problems without close supervision.

-
Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and time management.

-
Fluency in Russian and good English proficiency are both required.

Benefits:

-
Fully remote, full-time work opportunity.

-
Compensation details shared with candidates during the recruitment process and before employment begins.

-
28 calendar days of annual vacation.

-
7 additional wellness days per year for personal needs, household matters, or rest and recovery.

-
Referral bonuses of up to $5,000 for recommending successful candidates.

-
50% reimbursement for professional training, international conferences, and professional meetings.

-
Corporate discounts on English lessons.

-
Health benefits: employees who are not eligible for corporate medical insurance may receive reimbursement of up to $1,000 gross per year, subject to the applicable policy. This allowance can be used toward personally purchased health insurance or medical expenses for the employee and close relatives, including a spouse and children.

-
Workplace support: access to equipped office or coworking facilities where available, or reimbursement of eligible home-office and workspace expenses of up to $1,000 gross once every three years, subject to the applicable policy.

-
An internal gamified recognition program that allows employees to exchange colleague-awarded bonuses for company merchandise, team-building activities, massage certificates, and other rewards.
