Hypori is looking for a hands-on, quality-obsessed Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will own the quality and reliability of our SaaS product through a mix of functional manual testing and automated test development across our RESTful web services and UI layers. You will lead test planning, defect triage, and prioritization, partner with several small scrum teams to support fast-moving, high-quality releases, and help operations staff through periodic off-hours on-call coverage.
Hypori is proven at scale. More than 95,000 Department of War users are on the platform today, and the Army runs BYOD on it. Our customers depend on Hypori to reach mission-critical apps and data securely, so every release has to work. The person in this seat sets the quality bar, shifts testing left, and makes sure issues are caught long before a customer ever sees them.
Responsibilities
- Create, execute, and maintain automated test cases for the RESTful web services behind our SaaS product
- Build and maintain functional, UI-based automation tests for the product front end and user workflows
- Design and implement new testing frameworks, and drive fundamental improvements to existing automation systems
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure test coverage and execution on every build
- Identify issues that affect CI/CD releasability and champion a shift-left QA strategy
- Partner with Engineering and Product to define test coverage, quality gates, and release readiness criteria
- Write, execute, and maintain manual test plans and test cases for features not yet automated or that need exploratory testing
- Lead defect triage and root cause analysis, and recommend improvements that keep issues from recurring
- Mentor the QA team and advocate for quality engineering best practices across our scrum teams
- Provide periodic, off-business hours on-call support to operations staff
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering, with demonstrated strength in test case planning, defect triage, and prioritization of work
