The Opportunity
Make a tangible impact on the security and resilience of services that support Western Australians. We are offering two permanent opportunities, a Senior Security Analyst and a Security Analyst within our IT Services function. Working at the heart of our technology environment, you will partner with teams across IT Services to strengthen cyber security, respond to evolving threats and help deliver secure, reliable and fit-for-purpose technology services.
As a Senior Security Analyst
Take the lead on complex security challenges and help shape a stronger, more resilient technology environment. You will provide expert technical leadership across security operations, complex incident response, cyber security risk management and security-by-design. As a trusted adviser, you will guide IT Services teams, enhance the effectiveness of security tooling, strengthen monitoring and threat detection, and turn emerging risks into practical action. You will also mentor security analysts and influence strategic cyber security outcomes aligned with organisational and WA Government priorities.
As a Security Analyst
Build your cyber security expertise while working on meaningful, hands-on challenges. You will monitor and analyse security events, investigate incidents, support vulnerability remediation, and strengthen identity and access security. Partnering with Technical Services, Application and End User Computing teams across IT Services, you will provide specialist advice, support risk, compliance and audit activities, and help improve the controls, tools and practices that keep our technology environment secure.
Please indicate in your application which role you are applying for. If you would like to be considered for both, please tailor your application to the "Senior" role.
For further information about the role, you can view the attached Job Description Form (JDF) or contact Craig Preston, Cyber Security Specialist (08) 9264 3677.
About You
You are curious, collaborative and ready to make a difference. You combine sound technical judgement with a practical approach, and you are motivated by solving problems, sharing knowledge and improving how things are done. With a relevant tertiary or industry qualification, you can analyse security issues, communicate risks and recommendations clearly, build productive relationships, and contribute to an accountable, inclusive and continuously improving IT Services culture.
