Senior Software Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play an important role in building and evolving our products. You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering team, working closely with Product and Engineering to solve interesting problems and help shape our technology as we grow.

You’ll have the opportunity to work hands-on with modern backend technologies and AI, while contributing to the way we design, build, and improve our systems. We value people who are curious, pragmatic, and enjoy sharing ideas and learning from others.

What you'll do

You’ll design, build, and evolve scalable backend services, APIs, and event-driven systems. You’ll contribute to architectural decisions, help improve the quality and scalability of our technology, and work with the team to address technical challenges and opportunities.

You’ll also work closely with Product to turn business needs into technical solutions and help bring new ideas into production. A part of the role will be exploring and integrating AI capabilities, including LLMs and agentic workflows, as well as using AI tools to improve how we develop software.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll also support and mentor other engineers, contribute to technical discussions, and help create a collaborative environment where the team can do great work.

What we're looking for

You likely have 5+ years of professional backend experience, think carefully about architecture, and are genuinely curious about AI — while staying comfortable working across a broad range of domains and shifting priorities. More specifically:

• Backend Expertise: Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript.

• Architecture & Microservices: Experience designing, building, and scaling distributed microservices and APIs.

• AI & LLMs: Experience working with AI agents and integrating LLM-based workflows into production systems.

• Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, and automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Database Management: Comfortable working with both SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, DynamoDB, and Redis.

• AI Development Tools: Experience using AI development tools to support and improve everyday engineering workflows.

• Experience with Python and PHP is considered a plus.

• A degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning or similar is a plus but equivalent experience counts just as much.

Alongside technical skills, we value how you approach problems and work with others. As a senior engineer, you’ll have an opportunity to contribute beyond your own code — sharing knowledge, helping the team move forward, and creating a positive environment where people can do their best work.

• Leadership & Mentorship: Enjoys sharing knowledge, supporting teammates, and helping others grow.

• Ownership & Initiative: Takes responsibility for their work and is comfortable making decisions while involving others when needed.

• Clarity & Communication: Able to make complex topics easier to understand and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

• Positive Mindset & Resilience: Approaches challenges and change with a constructive, curious, and solution-oriented mindset.

• Agile Collaboration: Enjoys working closely with Product and Engineering, embracing collaboration, flexibility, and open feedback.

Our ways of working

Each team has clear responsibilities and goals — and the freedom to find the best solution together. We have an agile approach, closely integrated Product and UX teams, and we use modern frameworks and the best tools available.

We work flexibly, with a strong focus on delivering quality and creating real value for our customers. We take our work seriously, while creating an environment where people can enjoy what they do, grow their skills, and support each other. Learning and knowledge sharing are a natural part of how we work.

Where you'll be and how you'll work

We have three offices: London, Uppsala, and Paris. This role is based in Uppsala. We work business hours, but we understand that life sometimes gets in the way.
