Must have
- 5+ years post-qualification software engineering experience with full SDLC exposure, preferably on enterprise-scale systems
- Relevant third-level qualification (BS/MS) or equivalent commercial experience
- Proven excellent technical problem-solving capabilities
- Strong coding skills in Java, Python, Node JS/TypeScript with OOP and design patterns
- Proven experience designing for and working with Amazon Web Services or another cloud platform
- Development experience with AWS services such as CloudWatch EventBridge, Step Functions, Lambda, SQS, S3, and IAM
- Experience building API services (REST/etc)
- Experience with RDBMS and/or NoSQL datastores (e.g. Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

The Platform team is a distributed team, primarily based in Dublin, Ireland. We build application software and features for the FINEOS AdminSuite, together with the infrastructure, frameworks, tooling, and technology that support FINEOS applications and our cloud-hosting service.
This role sits within a team dedicated to AI-powered capabilities for the FINEOS AdminSuite, and the frameworks and tooling that support them.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the team, you are a key contributor in design, implementation, testing, and quality. On any given day, you will design and review services and cloud architecture, optimize our approach to software quality and infrastructure, and work with our other teams to better understand our users' problems and deliver solutions. This Senior Software Engineer role provides you the opportunity to broaden your software development, technical architecture, and leadership skills. In this role you will work in a Platform team committed to delivering quality software for our internal and external customers around the globe.
Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- You will build software using the latest technologies that are used by FINEOS' engineering teams.
- You will design and develop software to support the FINEOS AdminSuite and the AI-powered products that extend it.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, technical analysis and design, development and unit test phases including internal infrastructure right through to cloud delivery.
- Build and integrate AI capabilities - such as document extraction, summarisation, evidence evaluation, and case review - into reliable production services, accounting for the probabilistic nature of model outputs.

- You will provide guidance on best practices and participate in peer review of designs, code, and tests.
- Collaborate with data science on model selection, prompt engineering, and bias/governance evaluation where applicable.
