Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack / Python / React)

If you are a high-calibre engineer who values intellectual sparring, direct influence on solution design and seeing your ideas implemented from day one, this is your opportunity.

The StratsLab Difference: Why you should read this

We were founded in 2015 by alumni of the Warsaw University MIM Faculty, who spent years sharpening their skills at top-tier investment banks and hedge funds in London. We brought that exclusive, high-impact culture back to Warsaw.

Developer-Driven: You will be surrounded by top-notch Developers who genuinely love to code. We prioritize writing new code over maintaining legacy systems.

Unique Domain: You\'ll gain unique, marketable skills working directly in the highly specialized area of trade risk assessment which is highly challenging and intellectually rewarding.

Our Roots & Your Fast Track We are proud of our origins. Since many of us are alumni of UW (JSIM, CS, Math, Physics), Matex at Staszic and finalists of the Informatics or Mathematics Olympics, we know what it takes to get there. If you share this background, just apply and we guarantee you an intro call. We speak the same language, so let’s skip the formalities. While we value our roots, we value exceptional engineering even more. If you are a high-calibre developer from a different path, your skills are the only credential that matters. Apply, and let your code do the talking.

Your role: What will you do?

• You will build apps that help portfolio managers and traders manage financial risk.
• You will visualize large amounts of data and build interfaces to interact with them such as booking trades, running risk reports or defining Monte Carlo scenarios.
• You will be exposed to React from time to time when something needs to be extended or improved.
• You will build interfaces capable of rendering and updating thousands of data points with sub-second latency.
• You will debug and optimize the full request-response lifecycle to minimize latency, working closely with backend structures.

What Makes You the Right Fit?

• You enjoy building frontend apps as this will be your primary responsibility.
• You enjoy seeing users use your apps in a different way than you anticipated and adjust accordingly.
• Having a Computer Science / Maths / Physics degree helps as there are lots of geeky conversations over the coffee.
• You understand how NoSQL databases and caching layers (MongoDB/Redis) impact UI design and data consistency.
• You have the ability to communicate complex technical trade-offs to English-speaking stakeholders.
• You are comfortable working in a high-trust, results-oriented environment where code quality and architectural integrity are paramount.
• We thrive on interpersonal relations and the ability to solve the most complex problems together, that’s why we’re looking for individuals who want to come to the office most days to solve problems together with the team by a whiteboard.

The Offer: Compensation & Community

We believe that high-calibre work deserves exceptional support:

Compensation: Base salary plus a bonus twice a year. Your role and salary are based on your skills and how fast you learn, not just your old job title.

Professional Growth: You will work closely with experts and gain exposure to top financial institutions as a natural part of your day. Being in this team means you share knowledge with exceptional programmers and grow your expertise through your daily interactions.

International business trips for volunteers.

The Next Step: Our Selection Process

If all goes well, we are going to spend a lot of time together. Our process aims to ensure both you and us know what we are getting into:

• Informal Introduction: You will start with a casual chat with our Founders to see if we are a good fit for each other.
• Technical Assessment: You will do a technical task so we can see how you code and solve problems.
• Team Engagement: You will meet the team and talk about the role directly with the people you would be working with.
